My intention wasn't to be mean with Liara, I was just saying that her DlC wasn't made only to give you another chance to bump her, but because it was really needed to give to the character a new direction (LotSB and the whole storyline behind it were planned since the beginning) and a chance to remain important in ME3 too. VS is ALREADY important, as being one of the few humans in the Alliance who know what you're fighting and he/she's willing to help you. I'm sure that BW will be fair with VS fans and that Ash/Kaidan will be important in ME3, but you shouldn't be so disappointed for a DlC that was never pointed to be VS relevant. From what I've saw until now Arrival is going to be great, even if there will be Shepard alone all the time... enjoy it as it is and be patient, that's all I can say.

Also, I'm a lot agree with you, V-Rex, the hate between the various fanbases is totally pointless... besides how much we love it, we're talking only about a videogame... it is so hard just enjoy our version of the story and leave alone the others? Damn... if me "One of those rabbid Talimancers" can have enough brain to understand this, why so many others can't?

There's a reason why the VS isn't in ME2, I dont know it, you dont know it. BioWare does.

Have you ever stopped and started thinking for a minute? Thinking that maybe the VS didnt appear in ME2 is because BioWare has plans for them? Ex: theres talk about the "prison escape" beginning for ME3, maybe it'll be the VS who breaks Shep out, appolagises and is your 1st squadmate. If you romanced in ME1 and stayed loyal in ME2 there can be some romance at the very beginning of ME3 with them. Ever think about it like that?

Instead of calling Liara stupid and calling me stupid for being a "Liaramancer" maybe you should be laughing at me because your LI will most likely have a bigger part in ME3 than mine. I hope not but still use it against me because thats what will make you feel better and you dont know me so you don't care if you "hurt my feelings". Thats how the internet works.

I'm sure the VS will have a main role in ME3, so be glad, be patient.

Meh, I suppose you're right ReFlex. That's the Internet after all, it'e easier to find people who hate stuffs and/or love to ****** who's not ot their same opinion. Also, don't be discouraged about the relevancy of Liara in ME3... from what we saw until now it seems that almost every female LIs have the potential for being important in the main plot in ME3.

The Liara fans are kinda vicious. I like Liara but I once commented on her "crazy eye" look and they tried to kill me. I had to check under my car just to ensure nobody placed something.

Far worse than the Talimancers actually.

Hopefully the VS fanbase won't end up like that as well.

Damn people stop this VS bull****. You can see what he/she does to you during reunion on the Horizon. I bet this VS is going to have an order from the Council to kill Shepard. When it proves to be true, I think people are going to start crying on forums, "omg a vs wants to kill my shep (".

while I like Liara personaly  (though I would have prefered it that she wasn't quite severely change from ME1 to ME2), there was a short smidgen of time when I resented the hell out of her, and the reason for that is simple. 

you're not set up to break up with Liara.  she tells you that she cannot come with you at the time, that she has other pressing concerns, but you don't really argue or shout and even without LoSB - there's a certain hopefulness to the meeting.  and after DLC - you reaffirm your relationship, you might be in somewhat of a limbo, but its a positive limbo.  in either case, while she doesn't have much to say after initial conversations are exausted - you can still come and visit her at any time you want.  add to that, Liara getting her own comic as well as being showcased by PS3 intro comic.

with Virmire survivor, developers deliberately set it up that no matter what choices you make, you still end up botching that meeting, you part on extremely angry terms and if you didn't romance them, you don't even get a letter.  they share armor (at least in the beginning - btw, have you noticed that in intro scenes, Ash and Kaidan are both wearing standard phoenix, while liara has a modified version of it?), animations and even dialog, almost word for word and you barely get separate options for romance vs non-romance meeting.  and did I mention that both of them are uncharacteristicaly unwilling to listen, while shepard is uncharacteristicaly lacking persuasion? then you get to the ship and every single conversation option is promting you to break up with them.  PS3 comic barely introduces Ash and Kaidan and from then on if they do show up, its in a background.

We don't yet know what will happening ME3, but right now - Liara is getting preferential treatment.  so its hard NOT to feel resentful, even if you actualy do like the character.  and btw, shadow broker is a damn big role IMO, she might not be a squad mate (although hey - you never know, she COULD leave Feron in charge while she's temporarely gone), but she's vital to Shepard.

I don't agree with how OP expressed his opinion, but I sadly, I do understand some of the sentiment.

Is it confirmed? I didn´t get if in the article where it was mentioned if it was BW or the reviewer speaking. If the latter, he only played 1st - 2nd act of 5.

Unless the VS is a spectre they don't answer to the Council.

Sending a friend or lover to kill Shepard is too messy and their are better options like a spectre  death squad

Good lord give it a rest already, VS isn't in arrival. Stop whining and crying. Most likely Ass/Karth will be in Mass Effect 3. It's been confirmed that they aren't in this DLC. No matter how big your thread or your petition, BioWare must have already had plans for the DLC a while ago.

Right, time to weigh in. Despite this thread having apparently been started by a troll, it's moved on from that point and gotten into an interesting discussion beyond just the VS.

Breaking it down: First game, the VS is one of your possible romance options. I haven't done a female Shep playthrough yet, but I never romance Ashley. Why? If I'm going to get into a relationship with a racist ****, I'll wait for 2 and get together with Miranda. Liara I romanced, and continued with my main Paragon playthrough. I actually found the storyline of LotSB very interesting, but that's just me.

We hit ME2, and we have more options. There's our old flame, who we either have a fight with (VS), or can choose whether or not to rekindle the flames with (Liara). Than we have 3 more options. Jack I avoid due to her being to chaotic. Miranda I'll go for, especially if I'm playing a Pro-Human Shepard; and Tali I've only done once, and that's because I ended up screwing up my chances with Miranda.

THe idea that the VS could be sent as an assassin is interesting. If they did, it would be under orders from the Alliance if you remain with Cerberus, as far as I see it.

In regards to the whole 'VS hate' thing, it really depends on your playthrough. My Shepard tends to leave Ash behind, usually next to the nuke, and has a good friendship with Kaidan. So the VS discussion was less of a 'you're betraying me and the Alliance' as it is 'you could be easily confused with Cerberus rebuilding you. You sure you know where your loyalties lie?' I didn't like that both of them had practically the same Dialogue. The only difference is that Ash refers to you as a god back from the dead, while Kaidan refers to you as a legend and a ghost.
Anyways, currently, Liara and the ME2 romance options are of more use for us. Liara as the new Shadow Broker, and the ME2 romance options as either our XO, our Chief Engineer, or our insane **** secret weapon. (For males. I can't remember the femShep options right now).
Anyways, we'll see what happens. If I remember correctly, BioWare's said a few things that have ended up being their way of misleading us in order to have a bigger surprise. Perhaps their statement the VS won't be in Arrival (if there ever was one) will be one of those. But I personally think the VS should have a much larger role in ME3, regardless of romance option, and become as integral to the fight against the Reapers as they were.

Just for the record, my favorite pairings are either Liara or Miranda, but I'll occasionally save Ash and romance her. Tali..... she's cool, but I think she's better off getting together with another Quarian. I see her as a 'little sister' to my Shepard.

No, it hasn't. Rather, the fact that the DLC cannot be started until AFTER Horizon is a rather interesting bit of info in regards to the VS. As a matter of fact, even that quote is dubious, as no one is sure whether or not Bioware told her that (she is completely unclear on this point and the devs haven't clarified). If they didn't say that, then she's just making assumptions based on one act of a supposedly five act DLC. If they did say that, it still doesn't rule out them appearing, at least.

In short: WE ARE AT SQUARE ONE. We'll have to wait until Tuesday to know anything.
