What was your guy's favorite romance and why? I would have to say that mine is Merril since she is so innocent! She has such a good heart and makes tremendous sacrifices for the benefit of her clan yet ends up unappreciated. The happiness Hawke brought to her once the romance began was rewarding, to say the least.

I'm curious to see how Fenris and Isabella play out though. I heard Isabella's a little.. detatched and that it's very rewarding in the end. Fenris, I think, has a good video for femHawke

I've always done Merrill, but I think this time around I'm going to do Isibella, but I'm not sure weather to do hers freindship or rivalry

I'm not sure whether or not that bug is still active for Isabella friendship. It'll be interesting to have a rilvalry relationship with the character you romance. I'm always afraid of doing that because usually if you do something against a character's wishes, they dislike you more. At least it was that way in other bioware games.

this game's friendship meter is different. There's no "Like" or "dislike".
To be honest, my biggest problem is deciding who to kick out of the party so I can have Isabella in it. I'm a mage, I always have a second mage which is 90% of the time Merril, I need Fenris for the staggers that he provides every couple seconds and Varric has always been a primary character for me. On a side note, your party members CAN use Maker's Sighs from the Black Emporium right?

I'd say get rid of Merril and use Isabella. Fenris serves as your tank and if you're a spirit healer, you don't need a healer. My Mage's team consisted of me (Spirit / Blood / Primal / Elemental Mage), Anders (More for.. companion purposes) Fenris (Tank) and Varric. Essentially, Isabella can serve the same purpose as Varric when it comes to mitigating threat and transfering it to the tank, but perhaps she can do more.. single target damage than varric. Who knows.

Right now I'm experimenting with replacing Varric. Merrill is more for some party sustained abilities while I'm a DPS mage

I usually romance Merrill since she is adorable, but Isabela has a better romance I would say. At least in act 3 it really develops, while Merrill just stays adorable and gets her clan killed.

From what I've seen in videos, Fenris seems to have a good one, but anders is just such an annoying character all the way through.

Ehh, so far, Anders...but I think I'm in the minority here, lol. He was such a cutie and he had such a sweet romance if your friendship was high/maxed. I think part of that was also because he was one of my constant companions in Awakenings, even though he really isn't the same person now.

I tried doing the Fenris one, but I'm not into the whole mysterious & broody guy with a dark past. And he looked too anime-like for my liking. I did try to do Fenris all the way through, though, but eventually in the end I went back to Anders. Strange, because I usually go for the elf guys

Yes, I knew what he was going to do in Act3 when I started the romance, and yet, somehow I couldn't help but see the romance through to the end.

If I do end up doing a 2nd playthrough, I'm rolling a male Hawke and I think I'd like to try out Isabela's

I think I will find a way to kill Anders. I loved him in Awakening, but he is always on some bloody whinge. If the Hanged Man charged 2 pence for brooding and whinging Anders would have less coin than Fenris

I... disliked Anders. He was awesome back in DA:O:A but he's just... too whiny now. I don't mind a character expressing love.. but Anders was just obsessed and that is just weird lawl.

Id have to say Fenris. He may come off as a jerk at first but his reasonings and what happened to him in the past explains a lot about him. I actually got to see the kinder and gentler side of him with his romance and I feel in love with his personality as a whole.
