Can poisons be applied to dps for archers and mages staves? Ive seen where you can apply poisons to either ranged weapon or a staff and even have the effects show up on the weapon icon, but not sure if it actually works.
Can you apply poisons to ranged weapons?

Yes. It works. The thing is most poisons aren't really worth applying after Act I (the only exception being Arcane Poison).

Can you elaborate on that point? 15% damage reduction isn't worth it?

No, because you should be killing things quick enough, and your tank should be durable enough that damage reduc poisons(and poisons in general) are a waste of money.

Yes, indeed. In addition, even the bosses do not hit THAT hard until the very end-game.
I do use Deathroot Toxin in Act I (it's a freebie Nature Rune equivalent, after all). I also plan to use Arcane Poison semi-permanently on Sebastian on my experimental party playthrough (after I wrap the solo one up -- only Meredith left): you can see how that one can be useful with high attack speed, right?

Yeah it reduces the elemental resistance by 15% if I remember correctly. From what I've seen the poisons have a very high chance to apply the effect.
It would be nice to see if the effect is calculated before the damage so for example even the first bow-shot at the target could benefit from it.
Also, do you know if there's any duration limit on the poison's effects?

Reduces magic resistance by 15%, to be precise, but it's almost as good: it means your party mage has a higher chance to affect the target, with, say, Hex of Torment.
No, no idea about the duration

I never used anything beyond the default dropped potions/poisons on my first (hard, not NM) run. Well, aside from the potion of Heroism. While I liked the hunt to find reagents, the result felt kind of superfluous.
If there was more information IN GAME about Magic Resistance of certain enemies, I might have pursued the Arcane Poison. That said, is there any resource that lists the amount of Magic Resist a given enemy has?
I know IN1 has been cranking out quality information like a madman... did he or someone else post it and I overlooked it?
