As promised here, I've gone over 200k with full party setup.

Posted Image

Full damage modifiers breakdown:
Sebastian: Righteous Chain (9 or 10) > Wounding Arrow
Merrill: Hex of Torment > Grasp of Winter > BRITTLE
Fenris: Might > Rally
Hawke: Potion of Mighty Offense > Mark of Death > Assassinate

Gear: Jackal's Longbow, Dura's Blue Flame, Robes of Unblemished Cleanliness, Helm and Gloves of the Champion, Stealth Boots, Ring of the Ferryman, Etched Twins.

Note: My CriticalRange somewhat sucks (Duelist, not Shadow; elemental, not physical setup).

NM lvl 26 Orsino has... well, a freaking lot of hitpoints :) I can calculate the exact value, but why bother? It's a somewhat idiotic method to kill him, anyway -- there are much easier options.

Orsino is just a huge fat blob. Hybris is a much better boss. :-)

Yeah, he's not difficult at all. A good sandbox to try out different setups for maximized damage, though.

Impressive. I wonder if there's any way to prep even further, since you've got all your companions wailing on him, not just the ones in your party. I don't know if they ever do anything beyond autoattack, or if you can control them with tactics, or if there's even anything they could do to boost the damage, but it might be worth a look.  Does Arcane Posion help at all, or are you already using it?

You can skip Rally the next time, though. Unless you've downloaded a fix, it doesn't apply the bonuses from Might or any other sustaineds to the rest of the party.

About Arcane Poison: hard to judge. I have no working script to dump enemy stats to the log in DA2, sadly :(
About Rally: I think the +X% damage part works. I can see secondary stats only in saved games, though, and since I cannot save during the battle... Sort of hard to judge, too. Is it a firmly established fact Rally does not work?

Pretty sure. I don't have any hard evidence other than the fact that the buffs don't appear on the UI. There is, however, a list of known bugs in the readme file in Program Files (x86) > Dragon Age 2 > docs, which includes:

"The warrior's Rally talent does not correctly extend the benefits of sustained modes to other party members."

The mana/stamina regen part still works, but of course that's not worth much on its own.

Well, relying on the UI is not a wise choice usually. It does not display a whole bunch of vital parameters. Gff4editor by Mephales is a more reliable tool.

As a side note: 'does not correctly extend' is not synonymous with 'does not work'.

Anyway, thanks for the valuable information.

Should be testable in-game either way.  Regardless, good find on the build.

Already finished my rogue run, though I'm pretty sure I couldn't afford the 250g for the ring and robes in act 3 anyway. At least this gives me reason to save those +X% fire items for Sebastian, though of course he won't be doing quite as much damage with only Dura's Blue Flame, random rings, and his +25% crit damage talent.

Oh, that's an old idea I've been toying with since DAO days. You might want to check this out. Essentially, my DA2 archer build is the same concept adapted to DA2 mechanics.

I'll probably do a full party no-console playthrough with +- the same build. Given the newest findings on Runes of Fortune, I think I will actually be able to afford the expensive items without adding money via console.

One thing, though, rally only gives mana regen right now, and doesn't correctly give the bonuses of might/control/turn the blade/elemental aegis. It was mentioned in release notes here somewhere and in this thread.

Eh, that's bad. I'll need Aveline anyway for my full party playthrough because of Rosamund's Bulwark, so...

yes, currently rally is not sharing the modal effects that it should so you're, presumably, missing out on the 10% from might if you're a rogue.

Also, there is a max amount of damage you can deal in one hit so when you're on Nightmare it's not the biggest % of the bosses total HP.

Good to know. Actually, I've noticed there is some kind of damage mitigation: I mean, I hit him for 200k, but his life bar looks like I've hit him for 50k :) Optical illusion or that's what you mean by max amount of damage allowed on NM?

Alright, so I poked some tech guys and here is what is happening:

Due to certain boss fights having phases, there is a safety in place where you cannot do more than 20% of their total HP in a single attack, regardless of difficulty.

I was finally able to scrap enough gold together, money really flows in the last act! All these items you find really sell for much gold. If I had to choose to buy either Stealth or the Robes, which do you think would boost my damage output more? They would be replacing their respective Champion set counterparts. I think it's probably the Robes.

OMG, sure enough, but there are much easier way to deal with... pretty much anyone :) I mean, setting up the correct conditions is a bit time-consuming: it has little (if any) practical value.

to me it seens that the numbers have a sligthly diferent offset, thus making it a possible fake, but btw it's also clearly possible to make that dmg (either by exploring a elemental weakness (without I don't think it's posssible, but I may be wrong) or cheating (for higher stats)).

Eitherway GJ

EDIT: since Orsino receives normal dmg against fire dmg, I would have thougth it impossible, but after seeing some of you're other threads I think that definitly possible
