I am playing on a PC with a disc I purchased from Amazon.com.  It is the signature edition.  I have installed the game, but when the main screen comes up and I select "play" or "configure", I get an error message.  The message says, " Runtime error. This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way." 

I have gotten the same message with version 1.0 and 1.1 installed.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how to fix, I have contacted EA support, but have not heard back yet.

This is a long shot, but you could try checking to see if DirectX is installed and updated to the newest version.

It is usually a Visual C error, but a search of DAO (same engine, remember), should be profitable, especially using Google or Yahoo with the site: redirector.
