Sorry for the double post, but the title on my first thread prob. would not make sense to anyone.

I am playing on a PC with a disc I purchased from Amazon.com.  It is the signature edition.  I have installed the game, but when the main screen comes up and I select "play" or "configure", I get an error message.  The message says, " Runtime error. This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way."

I have gotten the same message with version 1.0 and 1.1 installed.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how to fix, I have contacted EA support, but have not heard back yet.

You need to give more information than that. Please include your hardware specs, version of OS, and info about any other issues you've had with your PC.

Go onto your installation disc in one of the folders there will be a vcredist.exe or something like that..try running it then see if the game launches.

Sorry, it is Windows XP, Intel core2 duo processor 2.4GHz, 4 GB ram, NVIDIA GeForce 7900, Direct X11. I have not had any previous issues with running / loading games. Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 have both worked fine.

Make sure XP is updated to SP3, and try Lacan82's suggestion. You can also manually update DX9... which you'll be using in the game. Your graphics card will not support DX11.

No, wrong twice.  The five year old Geforce 7900 is Dx9 only, and Windows XP is Dx9 only.

But you do have a corrupted Visual C installation anyway.
