Okay game producers and distributors should start realising that nobody wants to see them. And if anyone hasnt noticed it is standard protocol to run the logos without interuption the very first time you start the game. Just saying its like going to the movies and being forced to watch commercials kinda ticks me off.

It isn't about what we want to see, it's about displaying the company's trademark.

so you are saying you view at as a commercial from the company, should we not be compensated in some way then instead of actually paying to watch it ?

An I bet you pay for cable or satellite = paying for commercials.

Since when do you get compensated for watching commercials?

No, I see at as the result of very good advice from EA's lawyers about how best to protect EA intellectual property.

There should be an option either on the config screen or in the .ini to switch off the intro movie. It's pretty common to have that option.

And if for some reason the option is absent, the escape key is your friend.

Let me clarify - I think they're very annoying. But I also appreciate the legal reasons for their existence. I will problem disable them on the full release as well.

Yes, that sounds valid. That intro is what we pay for. The game itself is irrelevant.

This is more ridiculous than the lip moisture thread.

Every company that provides an essential part of the game deserves opening credit. A publisher is VERY essential to the process. Without them no games would be released and there would be no money to make games. Its simple logic. Its the same reason Epic gets an opening credit in games using UE or when you see the Nvidia logo in games that are part of the Way Its Meant To Be Played program.

Well there certainly is that option in the character creator. It's even typed in for you so you just need to replace the 0 with a 1. Like...uh every other bioware game. :innocent:

I was wondering if you could erase your little demo with EA logo in the beginning as it makes me cringe.

You should know people will remove these intro movies on their own because quite frankly it pisses people off they have to see that logo.

I cant see why EA needs to be plastered up in the beginning just because they supply the money.

Yeah sure and when EA sues them for breach of contract........

Yep, oversaw it. Blame the forum (though I like what it does to the Backslashes :P)

Now, now. This is about a real annoyance, not some fever dream of a madman with a fixation on dwarven lips.

Is it just me or is topic topic bound to get shut down? EA (like it or not) has every right to show their logo, just like any sponsor has before you start watching a movie or a football match.

I don't have to be a fan of a company to respect it's rights (even if not their decisions).

The problem is not the fact that we get a logo of the publisher. The problem is that we get a EA logo, wich -frankly- gives me this really sour feeling in my stomach everytime I see it. I have always wondered why Bioware decided to go with EA instead of just telling them to **** off and find a decent publisher that is in touch with it's gamer audience instead of with it's money.

Surely OP must be trolling. Suddenly EA should work for the greater good and not market themselves to people who buy their games?

I am sure a modder will be able to remove every trace of that cancer called EA out of the game.

well when you are seeing a 20 min intro commercial from EA at the start of every game they publish, dont say I told you so. I am annoyed by this and every game does it. I am willing to admit that they have the right to do it although I dont think it is fair as we are paying for the game.

Really? And who else out there has the money to support Bioware? Activision? Yeah, that would be a so much better choice. Microsoft? Yeah, they'd care so much about what Bioware wanted. Capcom? Not likely.

EA is, quite frankly, the best choice for Bioware. Especially if they're left relatively alone. EA is one of the more developer friendly mega publishers in the industry. Of the top publishers in the world they're also the only one actively trying to turn there image around for the better. Activision is screwing everyone over and the first-parties are worried more about eachother than us.

Since Bioware are owned by EA, that makes Bioware EA.

They'll just uninstall it!

I've seen the light! The problem is that my underwear keeps falling down around my ankles now that I have taken the scissors and removed the Fruit of the Loom band around the top. I scared my car sumpin awful after chiseling off the Toyota symbol and I broke three windows trying to remove the company name with a hammer.

Well considering I'm just talking about the top five mostly, they're the closest thing to the "good guys" as you've got there. There are better publishers in the industry, but they're not as big. I don't beleive there is such as thing as a good or an evil company, the world isn't black and white like that.
