I've seen the light! The problem is that my underwear keeps falling down around my ankles now that I have taken the scissors and removed the Fruit of the Loom band around the top. I scared my car sumpin awful after chiseling off the Toyota symbol and I broke three windows trying to remove the company name with a hammer.

What? I ain't got no EA logo on me! Get away from me with that chisel!

Quite the contrary. If you ask me, every major corporation becomes inherently dehumanizing and evil as it continues to grow beyond a certain point. In the effort of profit maximization they eventually come to harm both their employees and their customers, be it on more personal levels, economic or cultural.Deran2 wrote...

you make EA sound like the good guys of publishing im sure they will be happy with your efforts.
Well considering I'm just talking about the top five mostly, they're the closest thing to the "good guys" as you've got there. There are better publishers in the industry, but they're not as big. I don't beleive there is such as thing as a good or an evil company, the world isn't black and white like that.

I want to be able to see only myself since no one else contributes much to this site but me. Make it happen- because it ticks me off to see other folks, companies etc on MY site.

Yet it is the fault of the humans in charge that these bad acts are happening. You can't call a company "evil" since you would be implying that every single person working for it was inheritently a bad or evil person.

Really? And who else out there has the money to support Bioware? Activision? Yeah, that would be a so much better choice. Microsoft? Yeah, they'd care so much about what Bioware wanted. Capcom? Not likely.
EA is, quite frankly, the best choice for Bioware. Especially if they're left relatively alone. EA is one of the more developer friendly mega publishers in the industry. Of the top publishers in the world they're also the only one actively trying to turn there image around for the better. Activision is screwing everyone over and the first-parties are worried more about eachother than us.
EA developer friendly? Most certainly not. They may have cut bioware some slack, but that is VERY exceptional.
You talk about Activision screwing everyone, but EA is even worse: They will never cease to find new ways of extracting money from players. If it's not from stuff like digital "collector" editions (MAJOR wtf, what is the point?!) it is from microtransactions in their other games (ever heard of the sims? rock band?). Let's not talk about the fact that they re-release the same batch of gametitles YEAR after YEAR, make minor changes to them and charge the full price for them. EA is the disease of today's gaming industry and their executives can go get hit by a truck for all I care. I have boycotted every EA game for MANY years now (thank god Mass Effect was released by Microsoft Studios) and this is the first time that I make an exception to that boycot. Hence, whenever I see the EA logo light up on MY computer, I cringe a little.

So what is the point of this install limit then? You call it "innocent" pestering then? Certainly not EA trying to trick ignorant people into buying the game again, because they would never be that evil according to you?

It was an experimental DRM system that failed. What else is there to say about it? It's not being used anymore, at least not by EA.

If you hate EA so much that you can't stand seeing their logo for 3 seconds with a cool freakin blood dragon flying around it and you can't be bothered pushing esc, then you have no business buying the game in the first place. That level of hate is reserved for boycotters only. Either quit complaining or don't buy it. Its like buying a bottle of coke and wondering why there's a coke label on it.
I choose to buy the game.
I choose to discuss why intro logos should not be there. They are annoying.
I choose to debate because I can and because its my right.

Anyway, if the intro movies aren't skippable, there usually is a hack somewhere around there, that removes them.

2004 man and that was a major problem across the industry at the time. EA took a big hit to their reputation at that time and a couple years ago a few people in the upper management finally realized that their image and current business practices were hurting them. This was around the time Riccatello took over. I remember him talking to a lot of publications about the problems with EA and what he wanted to change. Anyone with any business sense realizes that they need the huge sales from those yearly titles and it does look like they're commited to improving them every year. I've been hearing good things from fans of those sports titles about a few of this year's installments. They don't have digital "Collector's" editions of games. They have digitial deluxe editions. Using the term collector for a digital item would be increadibly stupid.
DLC for something like Rock Band is nessicary for the continued life of the title. Sims....Eh. I'm not qualified to comment on the Sims since I don't play them and don't really know many people who play them a lot to get their opinion.
You seem like a person who hates a company for no reason other than blind hate. Its pointless and quite frankly, annoying as hell. I have no intention of continuing this conversation beyond this post as I won't waste any more time on someone who is blinded by hate.

Any, and I do mean ANY sane person knew right from the start that this activation limit was a REALLY bad idea...unless ofcourse your goal is to trick people into paying twice for their game.
