I'm on my third playthrough and just tried out that infinite ammo  XP and gold glitch. Gave myself carpal tunnel in the process, but wow. Carver has officially every possible skill.

I'm... kind of afraid to go fight anything, given the level scaling. WHOOPS.

Has anyone else tried this on a subsequent playthrough? How was the Meredith fight? My main concern is the equipment not scaling with you and being basically useless. Maaaay go ahead and load it back from a save prior to exploiting the thing.

in both my playthroughs, My characters were 5,000 XP short of level 23. Around level 19, I run out of talents that I'd actually want. At level 50, do the enemies still drop level 20 equipment?

I have no idea. I imagine so. I just finished spending everyone's attribute and skill points, so time to go pick a fight!

Well, I'm halfway through the Deep Roads and haven't encountered any trouble yet. It is a HELL of a lot of fun being able to use all the super-powerful spells at at once, ha!

It's really cute to run around as a level 50 however. just kinda stare at guys and they die. I predict Knight-commander to be a major b-word.

I did my first playthough legitamitly, ended up level 24,
Second, I used the leveling glitch, to push to level 47.

I found that the gear you get of mobs is alot better than the unique gear from DLC and quests etc if you are higher level.

eg- The Corruption staff from Orsino, will do only about 50-60 dmg points,
However, any random staff you get of a level 47 mob, will grant you 68 dmg points as well as higher bonuses.

I think this is possibly a design flaw.
Bioware should make the quest items and rewards, scale with the player.
If a player levels legitamitly to level 50, and then gets a quest reward, the reward is going to be level 25 max, making it useless against any mob you face, which in turn makes doing quests, pointless aside from the xp reward, which continues to push you to a higher level, and makes you further away from the quest reward loots level.

All well and good, but I wouldn't class using a glitch to push up your character to twice the level they'd normally obtain by the end of the game as 'legitimate leveling'.

Notice I never said that it was...

I may have used the leveling glitch second time round to push my level up to level 47, but there is nothing in the game to prevent someone from grinding levels to level 47 legitamitly, at which point, they will face the issue raised above, where the quest rewards they gain, are useless, and the only reward worthwhile, is more xp.... which further makes quest rewards... useless....

There's only a finite amount of content available though, and nowhere near enough to get that high. How do you propose they grind the levels?

Don't worry, they'll promise 20 more levels in an expansion and instead of providing more hours of game-play they'll just make every shade (since that's one of the six models you see in the game) worth 3 times the experience to force level you faster like in Awakenings.

You can go up and down Sundermount, in and out of docks till the cows come home, and get treated to muggers, shades and arcane horrors as much as you want.... with an xp reward for the kills.

I was wondering why I leveled so fast in Awakenings, I thought it was just that I was uber by the end of Origins.

But come to think of it, I do remember fighting like the very first few mobs of DarkSpawn, and then 'DING' level.
Then meeting the Dwarven dude in the keep, and 'Ding' Level...
Then killing the Boss at the keep ' Ding' Level....

You get the point?

Why would one do that? Freely, even? *has still nightmares from all the waves of enemies in the game*

You may not want to, I may not want to....
But bioware have left to possible for 'someone' to do so.

No doubt there are people who would b entheusiasts about recording their level 50 legitamit ding!!
It can happen.

What are you basing the idea that enemies will always respawn on? On PC, each Act has a very finite amount of enemies.

Having revisited areas several times in each Act, my experience has been that after several visits the areas are totally empty. Sometimes after getting a notification about a gang HQ (Lowtown, Hightown, Docks) you can still get a few more glitched encounters with gang members. However, I've never rec'd more than 4 additional gang encounters after the HQ notification.

So... yeah, where did you find this unending source of XP?

I hit lvl 25 on the second playthrough, including using the potion for the extra level. I don't think I did absolutely everything, but I know I did do most of the "kill enough gangers to get access to their HQ and kill the boss to stop them from showing up" quests.

I don't think it's a flaw, I think it's intentional. You're not supposed to hit 50 on a normal run, so there's no reason for the unique equipment to scale. The only reason you can attain that rank is due to a glitch. When/If the time comes for an expansion, I imagine the devs will do as they did in Awakening: add more gear and more skills so you won't be able to max everything. Let's hope this time the enemies scale to the same degree, though, since Awakening was so easy.

is there a way to do this on the PC version? i miself run up and down every location countless times, but got to say that at some point the "waves" stop spawning o.O
that way i usualy end up a couple exp short to reach lvl 25 every playthrough (given that i dont used the lvl-up potions). also the lvl up bug from the console version doesnt work (endless gold/exp by turning-in the errand quests multiple times by button mashing)

Yes, PC version just use the console command but you have to enable it before you can use any command though.

it seems that the console command wont work on the steam version D:
just did everything there strp by step, but even setting the keybiding to F6 (as mentioned for steam versions) doesnt work at all... so yeah, still gonna level the "normal" way then

L4r90: Have you tried running the .exe-file directly, instead of launching it via steam? That works some other games, at least.

If you have a turbo controler, leave it on your desk with a heavy object ontop of the action button. Go and get a sandwhich and boom you already  have a 50 level team.
