Not because of DA2...but because of it's fans. In one side we have an army of old gamers: Baldur's gate, and Baldur's gate II players ranting on and on about how RPGs are dying and why doesn't Bioware go to the good old days; blah blah blah... The end result, not accepting any change from Bioware, always wanting the same thing over and over. No chance for evolution.
On the other side we have the unreasonable haters and trolls. They attack any Bioware game to date. From how BGI wasn't like BGII, or how BGII wasn't like BGI, never finding that end. In my opinion, the only people I wish to see murdered in the forums. They always claim to have played 'every Bioware game to date' but we all know it's all BS.
In a other side, we have the dogs. They will eat everything Bioware gives them. These people are usually noted by the ones above and vice versa.
Last we have the "oh that was cool...let's play CoD/Halo now!" fans. No loyalty what so ever. A financial end to Bioware. Why they want to appeal to this audience is out of my comprehension, but. what can we do?
In my opinion this is the vast majority of the Bioware fans. And it's saddening. How can Bioware possibly appeal to everyone?
1) We have the old timers. They will never be happy unless Bioware goes back to the infinity engine and spoon feeds them another BG. Not even Origins Satisfied them.
2) These haters and trolls buy Bioware's games at the end, but the consequence is giving Bioware a bad name.
3) This type of fan is a major threat to Bioware's quality. They would end up creating anything and these guys will keep on buying no matter how bad it is.
4) Will these people even buy DLCs? Do these guys even care for the universe or Bioware? I find it hard to believe that they will do.
So it seems Bioware is cornered in the middle. The 5th type ofcourse is the adaptable fan, who can enjoy a game but still see it's flaws, sadly these are in the minority.
Bioware is doomed.
