If you harden him, he actually gets pretty mad at you for not making him king. Pairing him up with either a Warden Human Noble or Anora as rulers is definitely the best option. Even if he doesn't marry you, a hardened Alistair isn't going to "roll over and let Anora rule".

I don't think anyone's suggesting he's a bad king, so no need to get hostile by "daring" people to dispute it. Besides, everyone's entitled to their own opinion.

For me personally, i simply done what he wanted, he didn't want to be king and my character was romancing him so she let him decide for himself if he wanted to take the throne or not. Besides my Warden isn't cut out to be a mistress and she certainly wouldn't want to help rule Ferelden lol.

Hey , I was just playing DA 2 today and i sauntered into the Hanged Man and there was Alistair and he was a drunken bum yelling about the Wardens and it all being Morrigans fault , whats that all about ,
