Power-gaming tips and tricks

I haven't been on the forums in a while since I've busy w/ other stuff, and I've been deliberately trying to be spoiler-free about the DLC and any new ME3 info. Anyways, just thought I'd share a few tips/exploits.
- Planet Alchera (Omega, Amada System), The Normandy Crash Site mission
You may or may not know that you can revisit this planet after the mission, but every time you return to the Normandy, it advances the conversation as if though you've completed a mission. I know what you may be thinking: the quickest way to trigger the Collector Ship, but unfortunately it does not count as a real mission. But, what it can be useful are a few things: unlock all available LM missions right after Horizon, and continue conversation when you have no missions left. Therefore it is possible to get Samara's loyalty and unlock her Reave before the DCS, or do Grunt's LM right off the bat to get weapon discounts at Tuchanka, for instance. I haven't done it myself, but the option is there. It's also the only way to advance Legion's leftover conversations after the SM if you've got no assignments left. Another thing I do is, I sorta use it as a test area to practice guns and powers without having to go though a mission. Just don't melee until you've placed the statue (a bug will cause you to fall into the planet core)
- Speed conversation
Normally when you want to hurry up the conversation, pressing skip often lead you to choose the default choice and/or exiting the dialog. A good way to avoid this is to hold the thumstck / key left while you're skipping the dialog. Most of the conversation format places the left middle choice as the 'investigate' option, so even if you choose it by accident, all it does is go into another tree instead of closing up the conversation with the right choice.
Hope this could be of help to anyone.

This really helps! I had no idea how LM's were triggered until now! I use the conversation trick myself, and it's quite useful. These are really good tips, thanks for putting them out here =D

Btw, when I skipp the dialogue I always hold the thumbstick straight up, cause there is never a conversation option on the very top of the dialogue wheel.

Knew about speeding up conversations as I've accidently progressed convos by selecting options in a rush so generally the tip about hovering the left stick in the left direction at 'investigate' makes sense.
Didn't know you could revisit the Crash Site nor did I know you could progress squadmate convos on Normandy and unlock loyalty missions each time you revisit. Once again I've learnt something new about ME2 cheers for sharing Tony.

I like the sound of that bug - falling into the planet. Might have to try it to see for myself!

Yeah, I've never even thought to revisit the crash site, so that's new to me.

I never go there anyways - too boring, but a nice amd fast way to unlock loyalty missions.
BTW, you can have Samara's Reave and Grunt's discount plus all your current squad's loyalty powers before the DCS - just don't recruit more than five, when you have 6 you'll go to the DCS. With five you can easily complete most of the game before the DCS mission.
I have to test the conversation thing on PC - thanks for the tips Tony

Just out of curiousity, but was this exploit ever fixed for the PC release? Because I've been trying like mad to use it to advance Legion's and a few other characters dialogue trees after the Suicide Mission, but no matter how many times I land on and leave Alchera, their dialogue doesn't advance to the next conversation (even when there are suppose to be more conversations remaining).Tony Gunslinger wrote...

As far as I know, you can't leave the planet till you re-place the statue, which is what I always do, but nothing seems to allow the squadmate conversation tree to advance to the next step even when there are more conversations remaining (like Legion).Lariscus Obscurus wrote...
As far as I remember you have to place the statue again but I never used this bug so I can be wrong.
