I haven't played NWN2 in about a year, but I just recently purchased the Platinum edition on Steam while it was on sale so that i wouldn't have to keep track of my CD's(and I didn't own Storm of Zehir).
I started up Mask of the Betrayer, and I'm noticing a problem with the camera in all 3 camera modes regarding WASD play. I used to play with WASD all the time, and usually stayed in Character mode, ocassionaly switching to Exploration mode, but still continued to use WASD, but the issue that I am now having(and know I didn't recall this before because its driving me insane), is whenever I press forward and turn(left or right) at the same time(such as moving forward while turning left or right through a corridor), when I release the keys my character will SOMETIMES(not all the time, but QUITE often) turn completely 45-90 degrees int he OPPOSITE direction of where I was trying to turn. So pressing forward plus turning left, when I release, he'll turn to the right 45-90 degrees
tl;dr version. Pressing forward plus turning left or right causes my character to turn the OPPOSITE direction 45-90 degrees whenever I release the 2 keys.
This has to be something new, because I used to play this all the time and NEVER had this problem before. I've fiddled with all the settings regarding the camera and can't seem to figure out what would be causing it.
Camera bug? I don't recall this...

Use skywing's Client Extension (on the vault). I solves this specific problem.

It's not really accurate to say it solves the problem. The CE will re-adjust your character back into the direction it was facing. So your character will spin in one direction then spin back in the other. It also requires you to launch the game client through an exe located within a folder, and comes bloated with a lot of other client changes/additions.
That said, it's the best (and only?) solution that I'm aware of.

It's not a problem that can be solved, but it can make it less of an issue.
That "bloat" happens to make the game playable since it's far more focused on fixing thing the developers could not or would not fix. The rewritten resource manager, and rewritten networking code, not to mention the way when you normally would crash, it just fixes whatever the issue was. It makes the game far more stable, and if not for skywings hard work the community would be a lot smaller.
The only reason not everyone is using the extension is they don't really understand how many major issues and bugs this quietly fixes.

Yeah, it sucks. If you can get back to 1.22, I think it goes away? But the steam version might come updated to the latest by default, in which case the CE is your only option. (Or click-to-move. I think that works fine.)

I have the steam version and you cannot get back to 1.22.... I finally found the CE, and it makes it playable at least. Still annoying, but not frustratingly bad as before I suppose. Maybe I should just retrain my brain to play with the click to move. I really dont want to miss out on what seems to be a potentially fantastic game.

There is a tutorial on the Vault which offers some guidance as to the camera settings.
There were also a couple of threads around here about it. If you change the settings in the ini file, you can make it a lot less hyper-sensitive. I don't really play in character mode myself, though.
