Who told the BW cupid to fly away and not come back? And why?

My Lady Hawke has decided that romance isn't for her. She's living life on the outskirts of honesty, greasing wheels, and running high priced errands. Even though she's moved up in the world and is beginning to gain some noteriety and respect she still doesn't think it's fair to drag someone else into her crazy life. (And she really hopes her mother was joking about finding a husband for her!)

Besides, who can devote the time required to one's lover when they have friends like hers?

My Lady Hawke is very good friends with the gaurd captain Avalene. They've been through a lot together and, while each has followed their own path, have managed to maintain a friendship that started in the worst of situations and continues to grow despite being on the opposites of the law every once in awhile.

Varric is also a good friend. Understanding easily that family is important and protecting them requires doing things that you might not otherwise. He's also not adverse to making some coin or currying a favor that might be needed later. Sure, he's a little greasy but so was Hans Solo.

Fenris and Lady Hawke enjoy a rollercoaster friendship. My Lady didn't appreciate how he went about securing her aid and hasn't enjoyed his extremist attitude toward mages. My Lady knows full well the ups and downs of magic having heard her father speak to her sister about it time and again and doesn't need some pissed off elf displaying his displeasure every time she decides to spare a mage's (or imprisoned templar's) life. My Lady has told Fenris he'd be a lot more attractive if wasn't so busy brooding over his past and the amount of mages in the world. She's also thought (but never mentioned) that'd she'd like his looks more if he didn't look like a cross between a human and a Na'Vi.

Isabela reeks of distrust and other unmentionable smells. (Dirty pirate wench....enough said.) And if she doesn't stop hounding her about that relic she's liable to get the boot! My Hawke only tolerates Isabela because Varric likes her, and she doesn't want to know the details of why.

Lady Hawke wishes Ander's liked her a little less. She was more than a little disturbed when he came onto her right after visisting his "friend" and forcing her into a confronation with Templars when she had her sister along. Not only is Ander's just not her physical type but she has a policy against getting involved with multiple people at the same time. Her father always warned her about mages who consorted with "spirits". His extremist attitude is also very off putting and she's began to wonder if she could make a profit by selling his wereabouts to the Wardens.

Which brings us to Merrill. Everyone knows blood magery isn't good for you or people who are too close to you. Anyone who can't see demons for what they really are and uses the mantle of innocents to justify it needs to be kept at arms length.

In short, Hawke isn't very popular with the majority of her party and was fine with that because she had her sister at her side. Unfortunately, those Templar bastards came and took her away. :crying:
