For me, that little rat represent Disney and i have come to hate Disney! Not for what they've made, but because of the things I've come to learn about the Comapany and the Man over the years.
The company has always had a culture of Racism, Sexism, and Homophopia and has only ever put those things aside for the sake of Profit.
A couple of movies like Mulan or The Princess & the Frog don't make up for decades of overt racism. And I was living in California at a time when Disneyland was still throwing Gay couples out of the Park for holding hands!

Kratos, the first game made sense in a Greek tragedy kind of way but the sequels have him being an evil bastard for no good reason and then going on a roaring rampage of revenge for no good reason. He just kills for gorn's sake.
That's why he's so cool. He's like the Anakin Skywalker of Greek mythology. Why be a goody two shoes when you can be a raping, killing physopath?

Anakin at least had feasible motivation for his actions. He fell to the dark side in an attempt to save his wife (which ultimately lead to her death, that's very greek tragedy-y). As of God of War 2 Kratos is using his new found godhood to be a ****** because... he feels like it... And then when the gods punish him for his dickishness he has a hissy fit and then goes and starts murdering his way up the pantheon. In a good story you take something away from it in the end, the character has grown and in so doing he shows us something. Kratos backtracks in GOW2 and he unlearns everything he learns about his hubris and evil ways in the first game and just becomes a superhuman killing machine that players control to feed their violence fetish.

I assumed someone would bring up Spike. I don't really hate all anime and manga characters ever, I just don't like any of them. The closest I've ever come to liking one was probably Mugen from Samurai Champloo.Riv2.0 wrote...

You make a point. One could say that Kratos is a villain doing what he does for his own selfish desires. He truly is Zeus's son.
