And I agree with what others here have said: with a little time and effort, the custom faces (both male and female) can look much better than the default VanderShep (and animate better too; see the wonky reaction VanderShep has to Tali unmasked).
(Sorry about the low-quality pics. I play ME on Xbox and had to use my cellphone camera.)
Very nice! Can you post the face codes used to create them? And how did you get that hairstyle for your FemShep?

With Shepard having a private bathroom with a mirror on the Normandy SR-2, I had hoped that it would enable you to change the look of your character mid-game. Even if it was only hairstyle or facial hair options. I was a little disappointed that the mirror was just for show...
DA2 has the option at the Emporium and it's a cool feature though I have yet to utilize it.

I've always changed the looks from the default, except for dragon age 2, I thought hawk looked alright.
I don't play as females though because I want to feel that It's me.

No cliches please.
No cliches ... then there isn't much left at all. Everything is a cliche to someone, specifically if they don't like something.

EDIT: I was referring specifically to Vasquez. We have seen her too many times already. Sorry for being imprecise, I didn't notice there was another post between Vasquez's and mine.

You'll need to mod your saves to get those hair colors/styles and TIM eyes though.

Hopefully something like this will be in ME3. I really think they missed an opportunity to further customize Shepard. Stand in front of the mirror in your private bathroom and get an option to change hairstyles or shave your beard or something. Seems like it would be an easy thing to implement.

Not sure what is wrong with Vasquez? Ohhh...you want a "different" cliche.

I agree, Femshep should be modeled after a real person, like Sheploo was.
Personally, I'm lobbying for Ali Larter. I think she would rock the part, beautiful and strong female!
The default look for her could come with a new (long) hair model attached (like Miranda's) or a high ponytail (see photos of her as Tracy Strauss in Heroes). Juts picture her in armor with her hair pulled back, if you may. She would be perfect.

Grunt: Shepard. Have you ever been mistaken for a male of your species?Raanz wrote...
Honestly, I wouldn't care either way, but it would be cool if they made a default one like Vasquez
Shepard: No. Have you?

No matter what default Shep looks like, I got my own.
Wow, aside from eye color, that totally looks like my femshep.

All of the crew, and default male shepard look awesome. They're all specially designed, and female shepard looks like a derp-osaurus rex. The awkwardly ugly friend who's tagging along. And when I say ugly I don't just mean like.. unpretty.. that's partly personal preference.
I mean the quality of her appearance look like she was directly imported from ME1 while everyone else is all.. 'hey check out my shiny pixels!! Aren't they so state of the art?? Looks like Cerberus did a bit of a rush job on you, cause we all look great!'

I second that.
Of course, Ali Larter is damned beautiful, but she's what I would call "Practical Beautiful." By that, I mean she doesn't look like a "girly girl"; she's looks like the kind of girl who isn't afraid to get her hands dirty, if the occasion call for it.
Maybe that has something to do with the roles that I've seen her in and/or the pictures of her that you have posted, but that's how I see her, nevetheless.
She get's my vote for a conceptual default FemShep.

Agreed. She does her own stunts mostly (broke a finger in RE Afterlife LOL) and is very athletic out of set as well.Valmarn wrote...

She can play bad***, strong women like no one else, without sacrificing beauty and feminity, not necessarily.
Bad photoshoping skills I know, but just to get a visual:
