So how do I earn his DISrespect? Maybe by avoiding doing related quests altogether? But I'm a completionist..

Don't speak with him after Shepherding Wolves (as telling him you killed some of his people impresses him). Alternatively, you could tell the Viscount to burn the bodies of the Qunari that templar kills. This will also make the Arishok upset (and open up another side quest called The Fixer).

Just ignore him like the rest of Kirkwall does. But its not like you get anything for disrespecting him.

Except kicked in teeth, perhaps..

Thanks.

I know I don't get any reward for it, I just always got his respect (whether I wanted to or not) in other playthroughs and I wanted to try something different.  Also curious about the whole Fenris intervention thing that people keep talking about.

For what it's worth, remember that the Qunari come from an island nation just north of Tevinter. Fenris has probably had multiple encounters with them and would have naturally picked up some of their language. There is no more need to explain it in detail than there would be for someone from Spain to explain how they know French.

Keep in mind that Fenris states very clearly in Act 1 that one of the reasons Danarius "created" him was because Fenris was a living insult to the Qun.

Like the way Qunari chain their mages as weapons, Fenris is ALSO a chained weapon. He says Danarius made him something like a Saarebas. I get the impression that Fenris received his Qun education not only from the Fog Warriors, but ALSO from Danarius. especially if he's suppose to be an insult to the Qunari way of thinking.

He didn't say that's why he was created, he said Danarius liked keeping him on a leash to mock qunari custom.

Fenris was a slave in the Tevinter Imperium, which is at war with the Qunari. It kind of makes sense he would have a better understanding of Qunari than someone from Ferelden or the Free Marches. That whole "know your enemy" thing.

The Tevinters are at war with the Qunari. As slave to a very powerful Tevinter magister, he is very knowledgeable about the Qunari culture.

The reason that Fenris is knowledgeable about Qunari custom is that the "Fog Warriors", a band of renegade qunari, took him in when Danarius was forced to leave him behind. Fenris stayed with them for months and grew to care about them and their customs, though he never converted to the Qun. When Danarius finally found Fenris, the Fog Warriors refused to hand him over. Danarius ordered Fenris to kill them, and Fenris, still having "slave mentality", did so. But he really regretted it. Right after that, he ran away from Danarius and eventually wound up in the Kirkwall area.

You find that all out during his Questioning Beliefs in Act 2, I believe.
