The sweetest romance ever. My rogue romanced her and it was one of my all time faves.

She challenges you much more. They still need to fix that bug though where the dialogues get mixed up.

my current rogue rivalmanced her as well its very emotional. First she kicks you out of her house, then comes to the "hawke" estate to apologize. then if you play your cards right.... sexy time and you can invite her to live with you.
aaand yes... my rogue is a Fem!Hawke by the way. Don't know why i chose that route, must be logic in me thinking women are more cunning than men and are more inclined to be part of the rogue or mage classes.

What dialogue gets mixed up, Dan-mac RI?
What reaction does she have to the two gifts you can give her as a rivaled romance?

The same dialogue as before. In act 3 you come in and she's crying over the keeper and that quest hasn't happened yet. She still accepts gifts, or at least she took the wooden halla, I haven't found the other one yet.

You can get her stop using blood magic and she breaks the mirror. Her whole attitude changes somewhat. You also get better dialogue, in my opinion.

Is there a guide on how to rivalmance her? The only issue my mage hawke has with her is that she uses blood magic.

Yea, that's the case with me too. I want to help her and hug her but I want her to stop dealing with demons. And I don't wanna feel like kicking a puppy while doing it

One easy way of gettng her rivalry higher is to make sure she's in your party when you find blood magic tomes and always destroy them. Rivalry points each time. It's an Act 2 quest but I can't remember the name of it.

The quest is called Forbidden Knowledge and its really strange that you get rivalry points with her at each book imo. It makes it to easy to score full rivalry with her. It would make more sense if you got rivalry points on the first book but not on all of them.

That's pretty much impossible, letting down Merril always makes you feel like you've kicked a puppy. My current playthrough is full rivalry with her. Basically just constantly tell her blood magic/demons/evil mirror of evil is bad and she really really hates you if you don't give her the arulinholm dealy after that quest. She comes to you at the end of act 2 all apologetic and begs you to stop trying to protect her. Since I'm going for issy in this one telling her that I wasn't trying to protect her but everyone else from her felt sooo bad.
