Isabela deserved it and Hawke is vengeful, but why does it feel so boring?

Okay, so for the sake of science, or maybe because that Isabela left me in the ditch THREE times already (it's bad enough that she makes off with the book, but does she have to leave me with only 2 party members?!)... But this evil mage playthrough I just had to give her over.  At first I wanted it to be all a rivalry thing where Hawke is just freaking tired of her ****, but alas it's too much work to make her hate Hawke, lol.  So Hawke and Isabela were good friends, Hawke put up with her, even when she said she was the cause of all the crap with the Qun, she told Isabela she can have the book if it will save her life.

Of course, Isabela betrays Hawke who does not take kindly to being funny and nice to someone and then be stabbed in the back.  Anders might have the spirit of Vengeance in him, but Hawke is the ultimate in vengence.  Not to mention, Hawke was going to stand up to the Arishok for Isabela, even though Hawke totally admires the Arishok and the Qun.
So Isabela went too far so when she returned Hawke was all like "you betrayed me ****, I'm handing you over".

It was satisfying.  For all of two minutes while she complained and moaned.  It felt even better to tell her she is not worthy to fight me (probably for her sake as my blood mage would anihilate her).
And then it turns out she stole the book again, ****ing selfish brat, and jumped in the water.  *sigh* Poor Qun, they cannot win.

Act 3 starts and it dawns on me... I love Varric but I'm pretty much stuck with taking him with me everywhere because if those two (Fenris and Anders) keep at it for far longer I will start chopping heads in frustration.  I love them, but boy... cheer up, boys!  My only comedic relief is Varric.  Isabela might be ****ty and she might be irritating and selfish... and she will get chopped to pieces if she goes near Fenris again... but damn it, she's funny!

This is going to be a drab time all around *sigh*.

So what I'm trying to say is... the lack of Isabela mission in act 3, the decrease in funny all around, plus less flexibility (she's the only DW rogue)... it just doesn't seem worth it for that 2 minutes of happy glee.
I'm not turning back, the experiment must be concluded... vengeful evil blood mage will not be dissuaded.

Vengence does not feel all that great.

This is why I ended up not handing Isabela and Fenris over in my first playthrough, even though I really, really, reallllllllly wanted to do so.

LMAO!

Okay for the sake of the expieriment as you say... you should just finish out the play through...but it is good food for the thought of knowing the full measure of consequences of not having Isabella around in your party anymore. You could take Sebastian around...but then again that wouldn't be too good either...since he tends to be a moody and the tension between him and Anders particularily could be cut with a knife...

I do however agree with how you decided to go about this playthrough as far as Isabella is concerned though...because it seems like you aren't doing anything OOC.

I'm going to hand Isabela over to the Qunari this playthrough even if I do have to listen to three grown-up men all whining constantly for the rest of the game. I only wish I could have the option to kill her, as she only ends up escaping if I hand her over. But of course she's like a favored character for Bioware so they want to keep her around no matter what.

As far as I'm concerned she set a bomb over the entire city of Kirkwall just like Anders did for the Chantry. So I'm done putting up with her.

I handed her over then reloaded - made me feel bad. It annoyed me she escapes the Qunari - makes the Arishok look a dill. Better he die at the hands of a female, I'm sure he'd prefer that ;-)

Sebastian tries to convert Fenris!  And talks about handing over the apostates.  He makes me seethe and I cannot even make ANY excuse for why my blood mage doesn't kill Sebastian.  Except for the fact that the game won't let me.
I'm not taking that preachy dude anywhere.  Nuh-huh.
Yeah, trying to roleplay this one cause otherwise it's really less fun.  Sometimes being aggressive results in awesome lines coming out of Hawkette's mouth though!
I really had the whole thing planned out... it's quite the story behind this one.  I usually keep it a lot simpler, but I needed to have some motivation to be an aggressive douche most of the time.  LOL

LOL
Isabela is lucky she's funny, really lucky. Or better said, she's lucky the rest are always one comment away from starting a fight... *sigh*
I was surprised nobody commented on my giving Isabela over. At all.
Poor Arishok, he can't catch a break.

Awesome, sounds like your enjoying it and in that case... I say it's all the better! Maybe you could a do playthrough like this with another class(rogue maybe- I'm partial warriors myself) so your hawke can cover for the loss of Isabella in that case...and yeah, that is problem with Seb...his preachiness is really...not good in this situation. But please continue on, as long as your having fun with your playthrough nothing else should matter.

 :wizard:

Edit : Nobody comments because most people actually consider giving her away as well...unless of course they romance her...and not to mention in your case it's completely IN character.

Congrats, you've now learned why Varric was not made a romance option.>_>

To spare me having to have three canons?  :P
I have a feeling Varric doesn't do "romance".  Just sexy times.  I'd still take him over Isabela for some purely non-committal fun-times though.

I'm sure he does. Problem is it's hard finding the right one when everyone at the bar is throwing their panties at you.

Men included.

o.O Varric is a STUD. And Hawke thought she was popular, ha!
