Am I the only one who wanted Isabella to bonk Sebastian? I mean, he's a nice guy. If she can get to him, maybe we can save him from the Chantry.

I don't let choirboys touch my pirate booty. So... to say it with the words of the Arishock: No.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure she did it with the Seneschal, along with half of Kirkwall as well...

Anyway... Sebastian is annoying.  I keep trying to include him in my party, but his constant talk about the Maker just pisses me off.  Well, at least the DLC has some interesting items and a decent amount of coin laying around...

The last remnants of family he had were just brutally murdered for no reason. I think he's justified in overreacting, the poor guy is blind with grief. Cut the guy a break.

My personal theory is that Hepler poured all of herself into writing Anders, that's why Sebastian is so dull and annoying. Otherwise I can't wrap myself around how one person can write a complex and compelling character like Anders AND a two-dimentional, to quote Merrill, stale dry biscuit of a character like Sebastian.

Couldn't agree more.

Also, amen @ the OP

I was disappointed that we couldn't even argue with him that Anders should live and work to pay off for his crime rather than turning him into a martyr for the mage cause. He'd be free to dismiss it out of hand after that though.

Absolutly agree with you, and i would have liked the option to fight/kill him for threatening me/the city with war. I would have strangled him in an instant

Elthina told him that Death cannot be Justice and yet he is still making same mistake. Sad. what a DLC material.

but instead, he decided to threaten me!!! meaning DEATH to him!  and now I have to endure that emo kid for the rest of my life.... :crying:

Yeah, it was a shame we never got a chance to remind him of that. And I wouldn't mind seing that in a DLC, either. I'm not fond of the character, but it's a "Ooh, I like the friction, let's have some more" kind of dislike.

But Varric showed us in the All the Remains quest that there is a Murder Arrow.

I think its funny that NO ONE. Not Meredith, not a random templar, not Orsino bothered to kill Anders in that moment. They all let him talk.

Edit: Not to mention that my mage-siding Hawkes are going to be long gone out of Kirkwall. Why bother bringing an army to slaughter a bunch of innocent citizens. Silly Seb

Sure, it would be been far more appropriate for Sebastian to just attack Anders. But players want to be able to make the choices that matter themselves, rather than having those choices made for them. (Not that this principle was applied to the Chantry explosion, which I would have liked to be able to prevent. But hey.)

Sebastian gets a lot of flak but he's the only one in that crowd who was stating the obvious- that the perpetrator was standing right there. He doesn't say he's going to come back to attack Kirkwall out of revenge, but to get to Anders. It's obvious he's reacting out of grief and anger. He just saw his other family destroyed. I could completely understand where he was coming from and wished there was an option to convince him that I was sparing Anders only as long as the final battle and then would execute him.

No one asks you to kill Anders. Things just move along and there's no Seb interjections or praying.

He was a real dissapointment.... I mean I thought that the worst character would be DLC, but he just bored me. Im on my 3rd playthrough and I still haven't bothered using him on quests which aren't his companion ones

That rather annoyed me. Definitely an occasion where it could've used a 'companion do something now' option on the dialogue wheel.
You want to kill him Seb, then go right ahead.
I thought the fact that he wanted to bring an army against Kirkwall was insane anyway. I'll chalk it up to grief talking, because a little logic would reason that Elthina wound up dead because she wanted to be neutral to protect Kirkwall, and refused to leave because she cared for it. Would she approve of pointlessly attacking the city over something one terrorist mage did? Probably not, I think.

It's funny how both my favorite and least favorite companion were written by the same person.  To be fair, though, I didn't think he was necessarily poorly-written.  I just didn't like him.

Ah, Choir Boy. His whole character is based on him not learning a damn thing, isn't it? He gets his revenge against the people who killed his family, only to feel hollow. He sees Hawke feeling the same after the death of his mother. And when the Chantry blows, what's the first thing he decides to do? Kill the man who did it. He doesn't care if Anders will become a martyr or that Elthina wouldn't want him killing someone in her name. He just wants vengeance. Not justice.

Hm. Sound like anyone else we know?

Also, I highly doubt that he'll be able to raise that army to march on Kirkwall - he couldn't get the support for retaking the Starkhaven throne, and he's supposedly the rightful heir.

Sorry to see you go, Choir Boy, but let's face it, you just didn't get it in the first place, did you?

The DLC excuse is not an excuse: Shale was simply great, well fleshed out and ultimately, lovely.

Sabby: "I am the last of my line you must come with me on this dangerous quest so I don't kick it."
Sabby when you try to get him to put out: "Sorry, vow of chastity, going to die a virgin and whatnot."
Hawkette: "O_O;;; At least TRY and make some gorram sense, boy."

He's just a confused dude...

Dear Sebastian:

Please ask Bioware to find you a better voice actor. Your Scottish accent is horrible, and you sound like you're trying to sing but just don't know how.

Absolutely. Shale was also very powerful, and excellent comic relief. Sebastian is a) useless in combat as an archer, and B) dull as... dull.
