I loved Awakening Anders because he was funny, charming and understandable. His humour is a defence mechanism. DA2 Anders is whiny, not funny 90% of the time and I found his act 1 romance lines downright creepy... and if you don't romance him you get 'nice guy' vibes. And he's a hypocrite reguarding Fenris...
and now I miss the real Anders...

Before I posted earlier I saw a lot of hate for Huon and I couldn't, for the life of me, remember who that was. Well, I ran across him in my game last night and I know why I didn't remember him: Because he's yet ANOTHER psychotic blood mage. He just wasn't memorable due to how much crazy was going on in the game. That, and Nyssa's head sculpt just scared the crap out of me and I wasn't sad to see her die. Call me crass, but that scene just had no impact.

1.) Sister Petrice - Not because she hated the Qunari but because she's a manipulative harpy.
2.) Orsino - I'm going to cast blood magic and attack the people who are supposed to be helping me.
3.) Isabela - She caused a massacre on Kirkwall by absconding with that artifact. And the whole "Actually, I'd rather have your ship" thing.
4.) Leandra - "Why did you let her charge off like that?! This is your fault!" This... is why my Hawke is a huge dick to her mom.
5.) Kelder - They were asking for it.
6.) Grace - Ungrateful ****.
7.) Viscount's son - Are you serious? Who would ever want to JOIN the Qunari.
8.) Anders - Even my apostate mage wanted to kill him. Slowly. But she was also in love with him -.-

when does that happen in the game i don't remember it, probably because it never bothered me.

the scene that bothered me the most was leandra's death, i wish i could get a retexture to remove those markings on her body. maybe then i could forget how she got that way, that is one of the few times i will lash out at anders mostly do to the mental trama.

Its the Act 3 Quest "On The Loose" where you have to hunt down the 3 escaped mages. Huon's the crazy bloodmage elf who kills his wife/girlfriend/whatever.

Yeah, I have love/hate relationship with Anders as a character. Blowing up the chantry was a REALLY ****** move on his part. Intentions aside, it was a ****** move. Had the Champion not whooped Meredith's hide then he would have single-handedly sunk his own cause. Maybe he should have set those bombs in Templar Keep. With Meredith inside while they went off. That would have been slightly smarter.

And I wasn't that sorry to see Leandra die. It was sad, but not THAT sad. She blamed Hawke for Bethany's death. I don't remember if she blamed Hawke for Carver's death or not, though. The fact she blamed Hawke for Bethany's death makes me imagine that Bethany was always the favorite child and that Leandra always made such very clear. Yes, she apologizes to Hawke about it later but can words really be unsaid? And besides, Bethany was standing next to Leandra when she ran over to the ogre. If anyone could have stopped her, it should have been Leandra.

there just wasnt enough " caring" interactions with Leandra imo. Most of the dialog was about the siblings lost and restoring estate for mum. My first PT i practically despised her, the scond was still Meh, but i RP"d caring for her. If your sibling dies in Deep Roads she does seem to blame Hawke as well but one might handwave all that as grief and displacement of it in game, but I just didnt like the way it sit. HAWKE can go down to deep roads for fortunes but not the twins.. o well teeehee
TBH there were more characters in Da2 that I DID dislike than I liked!

Petrice is the run away winner. Obviously a very well written, well voiced and nice look/head morph for her.

The grand Cleric- Her want to stay out of everything is half the reason the end went down the way it did..she makes me want to punch walls.

Petrice- Woman is lucky the Qunari got her before me.

Alrik- I wanted that to be a slow cut scene death. He was a good example of actual bad Templar's

And honestly by the end of the game all of Kirkwall. The crazy in that place made me want to do violent things.

I say some earlier posts about Anders. I believe he is on here because of his actions at the end of the game, as a lot of people did not like it. Personally at first my brain froze, then I went into "Holy **** I helped start a revolutionary war for mages?! Sweet! Better see this through. Anders stop looking all sad panda and lets roll!"

now I don't want to get flamed. I would never go to such extremes for something...I think. Honestly I am human and the lengths I would go for to have my freedom I am not sure of, because it isn't threatened.

BTW what put Carver up there and not Bethany?! I personally can't stand Bethany because she has the "damsel in distress" personality >.<. Carver is much better than the poor wittle mage.

I have to agree there, sadly I only had a game with Carver once, as I love melee classes
