I'm having troubles deciding between Heavy and Wide Singularity on my Insanity playthrough. Even though Wide Singularity has a larger effect radius, it doesn't last as long and it only affects 4 enemies. Heavy Singularity can affect 6 enemies but has such a small radius. I've tried experimenting with both, but I still can't decide which one I should go with in geneneral.

I use Wide, and don't find it that effective due to the very reason you mentioned, its only affecting four enemies. I'd think it's better to pick up more enemies to nuke with unstable warp, and just aim better using Heavy over Wide.

IMHO Heavy is better, because it lasts longer.

Im playing through insanity as an adept at the moment and Heavy singularity is the way to go imho.
Wide just goes down too quickly especially against husks...heavy lasts longer and the smaller AoE isnt really a big problem for me sofar.

Heavy, because most of the time I'm using it to hold enemies in place and assist in draining defences.
For everything else there's pull field (sounds like a mastercard advert! :D).

Wide Singularity is iffy; it can affect a group of enemies in a larger radius however if you get at least one protected enemy and another enemy either protected or unprotected then it tends to disappear very fast. It's ok if everyone inside it is unprotected but is not always the case.

Heavy is a lot more reliable and can hold more enemies than Wide can, just being able to cast a Singularity at a tight group or a popular point in the map where enemies take cover or run into means it will still be able to affect multiple foes at once.

Allow me to jump in on the side of Heavy as well. Wide in my experience just disappears too fast and usually gets me killed. The very nature of wide defeats it on Insanity, in the larger are draws more enemies in and their protections usually mean it last for only a few seconds. Heavy is good to stop ONE character for a protracted time, allowing you to either destroy them or concentrate on other lighter targets to narrow the battle down to just a few. I have heard of a few people liking wide better, but I would only use it Veteran and below and even then I generally use heavy. On insanity, singularity should be your hold and control power, while Area pull should be your warp bombing undefended mook power.

It all depends on what you are using singularity for. If you want to stop a single enemy and use your guns to shoot them up then go with heavy. If you are trying to set up a warp bomb with a squadmate then use wide. Garrus with Heavy overload or Samara with Heavy Reave should take care of enemies with either shields/barrier and then you can easily warp detonate them with Thane, Miranda, or Shep. As for bosses or sub-bosses...stasis can take care of that no problem. Kasumi can take care of Harbinger for you.

Huh, I tend to use Heavy Singularity for my Heavy Warp explosions since it lasts longer... I guess I may have to change my play style a bit.
