I started playing with the toolset a couple of days ago and followed the tutorial on the wiki. As of now i really like it and got a couple of ideas I would like to try. There is something bugging me thought, the voice overs. I don't plan on doing any VO but would still want to keep the FaceFX expressions of the characters.

I thought the placeholder VO was only for developpement purpose but it is still speaking in-game, and let's say that a robot voice is breaking the immersion lol :P. I tried the "no VO" option but now the character still do their animations but the face and mouth doesn't move anymore. Maybe there is an option somewhere I missed to be able to keep the FaceFX expressions and disabling the robot voice....

Thanks in advance :P

I don't think they can move their mouths without a sound to sync it up to. I haven't really checked, but several other systems do work that way.

Mind telling me where the toolkit put your "robot VOs"? I'm having some VOs I want to apply, but the game simply does not use them. They are named StringID_m.wav, and I put them in various override folders (module override, core override), and nothing seems to work. By letting the toolkit generate placeholder VOs I'm getting some StringID_m files with different file types, and I'm getting facial animations, but no spoken text. So in your case, I'd guess you would have to remove the StringID_m.wav files, but keep all other files with said name but not ending on .wav

I tried this but I can't find them. I core override I got a couple of StringID_m.fxe and StringID_m.fxm but can't find the .wav. :S

EDIT:
I got it.... I had to delete the conversation_name.fsb from C:\\Users\\Username\\Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\AddIns\\module_name\\core\\override :P

Its no big deal for me since only me and a couple of friends will be playing it so it will be easy delete. But I would kill for s simple "Silent VO for Ingame" option or  even better, I would commit genocide for a good ol' classic Dialogue option. :D

I find it hard to believe that we can't use facial expressions in the toolset.

It seems imposisble to simply make a character smile without saying anything in a cutscene.
