OK, no one in town has the strategy guide in, and I must be missing a lot of content or something.  I heard the game was supposed to be around 75 hours long, I have finished it twice in around 32 hours each time.  Including Wardens Keep and Shale DLC.  I search around for as much as the side missions that I can find, and still find myself lacking in content.  I love the game but finding myself wanting a lot more content.  I have done the side quests for the NPC's, Morrigan, Leliana, Alistair, Sten, Shale, Zevran (more of an incounter), Wynne...Done all the blackstone irregular quests I can find, quests from the tavern in Denerim, the Mages collective, Crows and burglary.

What am I missing?  Thanks!

mm That's odd I just finished a game without 50-60 hours. It's certainly not exactly 80+ but easily more than 30.

Half the time spent in game is listening to dialogue.

It took me maybe 30 hours to get to half way point in the game on my first play through.

It took me around 5 hours when I restarted to get to the same point - mainly because I skipped all the dialog.

So the time is really different based on your play style.

If you spam the ESC key while you are talking to NPC's that will cut your play time by a large amount.

Also: 32 hours in one playthrough is about 20 hours higher than the average playtime game campaigns offer these days.

Were yoy playing in easy mode ? Searched everywhere ?

Some loots (such as the ones in the dwarf mines) give you extra quests.

32 hours seems more than short. Just finished it without completing all quests (don't have the 75% achievement) and it took me about 80 hours in normal mode and i'm not counting all the reloads.

According to your profile you have not registered the game, therefor I conclude that you are full of ****.

I'm nearing the 70% done mark (not the games statistic, my own) in terms of the main plot on this playthrough with about 37 hours played time and most of the side quests left to do.

As others have said; it all comes down to your playstyle. If you enjoy talking, exploring all the dialogue options, seeing how can you manipulate other characters in the game world, you'll find a lot more time invested in this game. If you go into it wanting a hack and slash dungeon crawler it won't last you nearly as long.

Still 35 hours is almost unheard of nowadays.

i did first one in 38-40 hours, and i've done a lot of side quests, i think i was really close to 75 all side quests achieve but i was burnt out close to the end.

still this is a lot, even compared to old day classics.

45 hours on nightmare first time, i thought i did almost every sidequest.. boy was i wrong.. i missed so much its worth doing a second time. I also made a third character and found other quests in my first few hours i missed...

At this rate, whichever char i finish the game with for the second time will be much longer.

I finished my first play though on easy in 50 hours with 75% of the side quests finished. I'm sure I missed quite a bit though.

I just finished my first play through. I did it in over 110 hrs., I think. Did it on 'normal' (tho' I may have accidentally played it on 'Hard' for a bit...).

I'm not sure how a 35 hour playthrough makes a person full of it. I was at almost exactly 40 hours for my first playthrough. I read the subtitles instead of listening to the voice over all the way through and that cuts the time considerably. I also recieved the '75% Side Quests finished' achievement. And if you check my profile, my game IS registered.

I think its a legit comment, the OP even mentioned loving the game and the post was worded intelligently. I understand the hate going out to all the numerous trolls that have been posting topics since game release, but when someone voices an intelligent opinion regarding thier disappointment in the lack of content, I fail to understand why people feel the need to bash them.

Well, I'm most of the way done. According to in-game I have about 32 hours, but Steam has me at a whopping 57.5 hours. Not sure where all the difference comes from, but I definitely trust Steam.

I am at close to 42 hours after having played almost the whole day without being able to stop and I dont feel like I am close to the end at all.

I do play the game the way I enjoy a good wine though.

I finished the game in 35 hours or so. But all I did was the main quest, Morrigans quest, Shayles quest and some of the side quests that were convenient to do while doing the main quest. I did it on easy. I will go back and finish the game again playing an evil human noble fighter, that should be fun. Maybe the Hundreds of hours of game play is actually referring to the re-playability of the game? As each class? Not sure. I didn't think that the side quests were there for the story, IMHO just like with any other RPG they are mostly there for the experience boosting and possibilities of cool new items.

My first run was around 82 hours and my second (still going) is at 58. This is the save game time; Xfire lists my total time in DA:O as 149 hours right now. Definitely, your play style has a lot to do with how long it takes. Sad thing is, if this game only takes you 32 hours, then the usual games that are released out there are probably taking you much less. You aren't getting the full deal, somehow.

Ingame time doesn't take reloading into account. So if it takes 3 attempts to win a battle, and another 5 attempts to finish it perfectly with nobody going down and your character of choice doing a flashy finishing move, you may spend an hour or more in real life, while the game will take only the 5 minutes for your perfect last attempt into account.

Least it wasn't 8 hours like I read someone claimed one of their friends completed it in. Only way I could see someone coming close to that and even then I seriously doubt it, is to use the console commands to kill all enemies in each area you go to. Even then I still can't imagine being able to complete it in that time.

But yeah 32 hours, I would say you've missed all of the sidequests, skipped through cutscenes and probably got lucky taking some of the less time consuming options.

My current playthrough is no doubt going to be the longest I done so far but that is because I have been making stuff in game with the Winter Forge mod. Also if you pause the game and say go off to eat dinner or something then come back, it still counts all that 'paused' time as far as am aware, so that can sometimes add up. Am really enjoying trying all the various options with different playthroughs due to different characteristics of the characters I make. Makes me feel like I am truly getting more than the money I invested in the game compared ot other games which can be done in 8-10 times less with not so much re-playability.

What with the DLC and the stuff modders will be creating with the toolset (like the aforementioned mod) the possibilities are endless to extend the playtime in this game.

This is my very first time, and I am playing on hard difficult. I got 22% and 42 hours so far. Yikes. I know, I suck.
