My first run was around 82 hours and my second (still going) is at 58. This is the save game time; Xfire lists my total time in DA:O as 149 hours right now. Definitely, your play style has a lot to do with how long it takes. Sad thing is, if this game only takes you 32 hours, then the usual games that are released out there are probably taking you much less. You aren't getting the full deal, somehow.

same here : D

I'm at 85 hours+ on my first play and i'm still at 45% explored O.O;

I been busy doing all the side quests and exploring inch on every new area i visited and i try to take some time off once in a while so i won't over do it hehe

According to your profile you have not registered the game, therefor I conclude that you are full of ****.

It's not really mandatory to register the game on the site.

Why does he have to register his game to have any validity?

My first playthrough took 60 hours according to the game, but I think it took me a little bit more. I had an achievement about 75% side quests and exploring all the areas in the world, if I remember correctly?

I only reached lvl 19, however, don't know how to ever reach 25!

Maybe your skipping the Jobs listed in town? Once you complete one job, they generally have another. Unless you don't care about coin, that saves some time. I admit, In some of the encounters were very epic.

However at the end, I got the feeling? Is this all? I was hoping for a Fable 2, when you could actually move around and complete missions you didn't or just walk around. But it just ended.

My last save game reports a playtime of 130h and I haven't been to denerim yet. So it's definately based upon your personal playstyle. Myself, for example, do not skip any dialog, try to search everywhere and see everything. I like exploring a lot. And when in a dungeon or an previously unknown location (dungeon or whatever) I explore with my rogue in stealth mode. So far I'm very pleased that I actually exceeded 100h at all. Didn't think the game would last that long when I first started playing it. I believe once I'm finished I might have 150h in total.

I just finished my first playthrough and it took me around 80-90 hours (on normal difficulty with a human warrior). That was without the DLC, but I did all the sidequests I could find and went back to some areas that my characters weren't skilled enough to deal with parts of earlier. I'll probably knock about 1/4 of that off future games as I'll skip through some of the less important dialogues.

84 hours so far, first ever play thru, I just got the Alienage opened up.

A game like this is best savored.

I do not rush along the main quest line until I feel as though I've explored and quested every single square inch of land and every single side quest.

Not listening to the voice overs is a crying shame IMO.

While it is true you cannot finish quests once you have completed encounter............There is NO actual time frame where you have to enter denerim .............. So on my next playthrough I took more time once I was close to finishing to go back and complete some of the things I had missed in an effort to get more done.

Meh, Bioware Side Quests are over rated. I did them in BG1 and BG2 and IW and NWN and Mass Effect. Its always the same, fetch this, solve that, kill him and the reward at the end always seems to be either money, a crappy item or a "you're a hero" speech. To top it all off their accessibility was dependant on the main quest.(its called a side quests for a reason). Fable1&2, Oblivion and Morrowind side-quests were much better. You could just go and do them when it was convenient for you. Biowares games always seem to be structured this way, which IS annoying, I just remember that dude I came across in Mass Effect on Feros. He asked me to get him his research from the geth infested facility AFTER I already did the mission, (i missed him the first time) and of course the Prothean highway was inaccessible at this point and I couldn't go back. Either make the side quests independent from the main story, or make it so that you are able to do something against the main story in order to complete a missed side quest. OR DON'T END THE BLOODY GAME so that we can return to the game world and mop up all the side quests we have missed. Ending an RPG after the main quests is finished is so 90's (Unless you go kamikaze at the end of the game).

Wow you people are speed demons. Getting through the game in less then 40 would be almost impossible for me unless I was playing specifically to do as little of the game as possible.

Oh yeah. Kill this/fetch that in the same respawning dungeons that's the same as 357 others. Yeassure.

Oblivion has the most monotonous sidequests/dungeons ever, topped by one of the most boring/dull stories/characters ever seen in a single player RPGs.  Bethesda is most definitely not a paragon on how to make a good RPG (not to mention one with a decent story).

I'm not even gonna touch the fable series. That one doesn't even come near being decent.

Yes you are right Oblivion was monotonous. I used those games as an example only because I would preffer to see that level of side quest accessibility in Bioware's games. Side quests being side quests will always tend towards being kill/fetch kind.

I spent 50 hours on my first playthrough, which I completed last night. I did around 40-45 of the sidequests and explored about 92% of the entire gameworld.

I skipped certain conversations, but I didn't skip any of the main quest ones.

That's like your opinion man.

It sounds like you prefer Bethesda's style, I don't care for it but fortunately for both of us both companies exist and are doing well.

Doing all side quests I usually end up in the 60 hour range. I try to skip as little dialogue as possible so things still feel meaningful for me - I imagine that adds a bit to the time.

I'm not good at using the game controller at all (so terribly NOT hand coordinated LOL), so I tend to play on "I'm only here for the story, so make combat easy" mode. With that in mind, it took me over 100 hours my first go around. I explored absolutely as much as I could (following my "always take the left hand side of things and you'll eventually end up where you started" path) and I know I still missed stuff! I've started a few other characters just so I could see the new dialogue and anything else I missed. But then, I'm with the folks that say a game like this should be savoured. The dialogue is my favourite part!

Like in every single RPG/MMORPG around the market. No matter how hard they try to conceal it, in the end sidequests are ALWAYS Kill/Fetch if you scratch under the icing.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, I don't have the game registered because my husband registered it on his account first! I'm going to see if I can register it on mine too... Otherwise, I fear I am doomed to be considered invalid. Le sigh.

Dungeoun and Dragons Online would disagree with you...99% of their quests were full dunegoun set pieces with indivdual stories not connected to its main storylines.

LOL wouldnt worry about, there's several "registered" people here who should be considered invalid and most likely have a bridge waiting for them to crawl back under.

Yes, and in the end if you look at it carefully, they're still kill/fetch quests. That's the scheme. No matter how you spice it up. It can be a combination of kill/fetch. It can be miltiple kills combined with multiple fetch. But there's no mold breaking. Ever.

1) Stop pressing the ESC key during cutscenes and dialogue.

2) 32 + 32 = 64...you're closing on 75 hours of gameplay out of it.

3) Take time to stop and smell the roses. It's not Pac Man.
