One day the magic will come back - all of it. Everyone will be just like they were. The shadows will part and the skies will open wide.

Bioware playing around or a hint to the future of Thedas? Does Sandal play an important role in future DA games? He does grant items to The Warden before he/she battles the archdemon and he turns up at the end of DA2 and does the same for Hawke. Will he be important in future DA games or always just a joke and recurring character? Thoughts? Theorys? Not enchantment?

If you side with the templars, you find Sandal next to MANY dead demon corpses. o.O

Anyway, cool prophecy, I hope Bioware can live up to their own hype :P

You missed a bit. "When he rises all will see." <- That's the part of his prophecy that had me most interested. Sandal is bound to be more than he appears... He always seems to be around when major events are unfolding.

Put that up there with his "the old lady is scary." it seems to me that Flemeth may have taken an interest in him aswell, which adds more to the mystery. Interested to see what happens.

I do love it when I play a game and it makes me ask so many different questions that I can't wait to have answered.

I said this to myself the other day while watching my fiance play through his second Champion. Sandal is probably like, the Maker, come to test his children's finest examples in some horrible trials or something because he is NOT a soft-minded Dwarven boy - that much at least seems pretty obvious.

Sandal is the real center of the DA plot, we're going to get to the end of a final game at some point and there will be Sandal with all life's mysteries answered ready to usher us into the new world.

I truly hope they are not going to go "Sandal is the Maker" route.  I thought it cool Fizban was really Paladine in Dragonlance, but I was 12.  ^_^

This happened in DAO too.  When you find him in Fort Drakon before the archdemon fight, Sandal is alone, covered in blood, surrounded by dead darkspawn bodies.

He must have some important role before all is said and done. After his words indicating that the scary lady (we assume Flemeth) is watching him perhaps it is Flemeth that has been killing all the creatures around Sandal in these incidents of him among dead demons or dark spawn and not Sandal himself? We know that Flemeth can exist in things like the locket/amulet we are given to deliver to the Dalish. Perhaps Sandal has something that contains a bit of Flemeth essence?

Yeah, I absolutely thought that, too, that Flemeth was the one killing all the darkspawn around him. As for why, who the heck knows? Maybe she just likes ENCHANMENT!!

I'd like to think, if Sandal can destroy a scrap of "Insanity Idol" that gives off more power than several buckets of particularly crazy mages, he can freeze an ogre and slaughter Darkspawn all his own without Flemeth swooping down and saving him...

Might just be me though.

Maybe he's carrying Flemeth around, like Hawke was with the amulet.

Or he could just be hiding the fact that he is a kung fu savant, as well. Everybody was kung fu fighting! Those kicks were ENCHANTMENT!!

Maybe.... he IS FLEMETH!

*Dun dun duuuhhhhh!*

Well, she can be a Dragon and she can also split herself into pieces and send them off to ensure her own survival. Wouldn't be totally out there.

Okay, sorta.

It sounds crazy, but I can't find the plot hole.  LOL

I don't think Sandal's any prophecy-central person. It would be a bit overkill if the slightly challenged dwarf kid that's just been hanging around turns out to be either the savior or destroyer of the world, or something.

I definitely think there's something going on, though. I'm sure he'll show up again, and that we'll see what his secret powers are really all about :)

Sandal has definitely some sort of sense for the supernatural and he isn't aware of it. I thought the part where Hawke learns about Sandal's nightmare of the scary lady was very interesting. I'm not sure though if this was a reference to Flemeth. It's possible, of course, but on the other hand Sandal could have meant Meridith. But he definitely senses things.

I have a theory... a crazy one at that... Sandal is a magically attuned dwarf. They say dwarves can't learn magic because their kind has been exposed to Lyrium their entire lives, what if Sandal, for some odd reason, doesn't have that immunity? Maybe his mental disorder inadvertently opened his mind up to magical powers. That would explain how he can defeat all the darkspawn and such he gets surrounded by, as for why he doesn't use his magic when being observed? A benign spirit is watching over him, much like one was watching over Wynne before saving her life.

Now that I have the sane argument laid down, lemme push it into completely wonko territory: said spirit is Fen'Harel. Yeah, the clever guy that played both sides. This is right up his alley, observe the world though a mentally-addled dwarven child; no one would come even CLOSE to suspecting anything.

He shows up in the Deep Roads the same way.

Also, he's there in that same room if you side with the mages - you just enter from the opposite direction.
