I've purchased and installed Mass Effect from Steam, and downloaded the
1.02 patch and Bring Down the Sky, as well as purchased and downloaded
Pinnacle Station. When trying to install any of the additions, however,
I'm promptly told that "Mass Effect is not found. Please reinstall the
game from the original source and try again."
I've installed and reinstalled, and nothing changes. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Mass Effect is not found.

Have you run the game? The Steam version doesn't set up registry entries until the first run.
BTW, no need to download 1.02, Steam should come with it already.

I am having the same issue and yes, I have run Mass Effect. Needed to actually get into the game part. Nevermind.
Am having a different issue now though. After I put in my CD Key, it says installation cancelled.
