/raises hand

I enjoyed the game, but admit some parts of it seem less polished and it's not just the obvious bugs either. I will consider buying DLC and expansions for it, though a third playthrough will have to wait until there's a proper patch.

*raises hand* I really like the game, more than Origins even. I like the focus on the personal story of Hawke, I like the companions, I like the way they handled the time skips. I think the quests are far stronger, as the main plots are shorter unlike some portions of Origins (Fade and Deep Roads particularly) which seemed to drag. Everything in DA2 seems important. No quest--not even the sidequests (except for maybe the delivery ones)--seem trivial. They all relate to the main conflict.

In short, I love DA2. I'm having more fun than I expected to, and I really hope BioWare continues in this direction for the next game.

I think that sums up my own experience.

The main problems I had with Origins (which I would probably give an 85-90/100, it's a game I liked a lot....) were that the game was too easy (even on Nightmare) and swathes of it were simply tedious.

I'm about 65 hours into DA2, on Nightmare again, same as when I initially played Origins, it's a far more difficult game, and at no point have I been bored and wondering when the section I was playing through was finally going to end.  I'd probably rate it slightly above Origins.  I understand that other people encountered game-breaking bugs, but I haven't encountered any of them so far, and I can only rate based on my own experience...

Things I like about DA2

Difficulty/new combat design
Improved visuals, including character models, areas and spell effects
Voiced protagonist
Dialogue wheel
Companions
Improved Skill Trees
Cross-class combos
The story is not standard 'save the world' fantasy, it's more intimate
The UI (I understand that many people preferred DAO's, but I lke the minimalist, more modern approach)

Things I don't like

Recycled areas
Abrupt time jumps
Junk loot
The isometric camera being limited and locked on the selected character

All in all, I really enjoy the game, although, much like my initial play through DAO, it's about to be interrupted by Mass Effect 2.

Unless there's a vast conspiracy where BioWare trolls are freeping the "Enjoy-O-Meter" poll with legions of sockpuppets - most of which were created BEFORE the game was released (Very sneaky, BioWare) - I think it's safe to say that a majority of people are enjoying this game a LOT.

It's also probably safe to say that the people complaining are the same people posting again and again and the vast majority of people enjoying and loving the game are keeping quiet and playing the game.

Or it's a giant conspiracy of pre-prepared BioWare sockpuppets. I report: you decide.

Oh, and I'm enjoying the game greatly. I made a particularly beautiful Hawke by accident and I'm playing her as a rogue. Can I say just how much fun rogues are in this game? Twin Fang, ACTIVATE! Form of EXPLODING MOBS!

I'm having fun with it. Currently in the third act and I get the feeling I'm not going to like Ander's quest.

I like the game it is far from perfect but I just don't understand the rage I am seeing people spew about it since DA:O at the end of the day had it's faults too but oh well each person has a right to an opinion so what can you do...

I like the game much as well, and I am playing it with my second character now. However game is not without problems, and there is at least one quest which cannot be completed for now (at least it is a side quest). I have all DLC's for now (I mean the two major one, not the unlockables, which I have about 60%), and although Black Emporium is nice, I do not really undestood it purpose. I have practically no reason to use it aside of a few upgrade books and potions. The Exiled prince is better. However some changes in character apearances between origins and DA2 were truly rushed (especially Zevran) and could use some repairing.

I'm really enjoying the game actually, I'm already in my second playthrough now, can't wait for more DLC to release. The only issues I have had with the game is (obviously) the reused maps, and the game froze up on me like 8 times within a week, other than that its another great game from the folks at Bioware. I was suprised to see so many people have so much issues with the game.

Setting aside the typical animosity towards the game's design, I had to force myself to get through act 2 and 3 on my first playthrough. Other than some of the main plot quests, there was no drive to keep going and see what lies ahead. I dont even want to get into the replay value. It was nothing like ME2, DAO or other Bioware games where I'd keep going and going as free time allowed.

Maybe it's the presentation and approach of having 10+ quests immediately dumped on you or how the environments just dont appeal to me. I just can't find the motive to traverse Kirkwall let alone accomplish the quests.

It's so funny reading this. Just goes to show the old adage about not pleasing all the people all the time. Just a for-instance:
* I like the new combat. Well, I'd like it more if there weren't waves EVERY time. Once you start expecting them, it takes some of the excitement out of it.
* I like the companion armor mechanic. I don't miss having to tweak 9 people's armor.
* LOVE the story. Immensely. It's so funny - a lot of people are saying they barely brought themselves to finish the game, etc. but they played DA: O over and over again. I'm kind of that way with this. I did finish DA: O once, and started other characters, but I don't think I got them past Act 1. With DA2, I'm closing in on the end of Act 1 with my second character. I have plans for a third. As others have noted, my playing has slowed down. It's not that I'm getting bored, just that I'm not a hurry to see how it ends now. Still having a blast :)

Anyway - night guys. I'm off to play :D

Had fun my first playthrough.

That's... er... about it. There's really not much to do the game. You can easily do almost everything your first playthrough. Replay it with different choices, it's not much different. Just some dialogue swapped out.

Very sad.

I was the same with DA:O. I beat it once, after that I essentially just played the different origins, got a character past Lothering then I got tired of it.
For the DA2 release I decided to get the 360 version of DA:O so I could get a save to import though but it was tough to drag myself through it again.

DA2 on the other hand, I like the story enough to keep replaying it.

Currently on my third playthrough and still enjoying it. Say what you will about this game, there aren't any "dread" segments like Origins' Fade sequence that just make you go "Ugh..." every time you play them.

Everytime who plays them? Speak for yourself, I liked the Fade.

I didn't find the Fade all that objectionable either, but I think that was largely because I really liked the stat boosts:  "You have to swim through an enormous brownish area with everything being simultaneously wavery and on fire.  Plus, you have to solo it all."  "Ugh."  "But you get stat points."  "Woohoo!"

And I groaned bigtime when I had to duel the Arishok again.  I was tempted to turn Izzy over to him just to avoid the fight, but I'm not that mean.

I replaying it for the 5th time and enjoying it immensely.

Some things could have been better, some were wastly improved over from how they were in Origins, but overall I love it just as much, if a little more so, than I did Origins.

I'm in my third playthrough. So far I kept quiet and playing in all my free time (almost three weeks without sleep...it's going to end bad for me). I tried to avoid visiting this forum because of the spoilers galore but tonight I decided to check something out regarding the plot and I'm utterly shocked at what's going on here. I will just say that I'm enjoing the game a lot - I haven't experienced many bugs ( just one quest to be honest and no freezing so far) and I like all the changes (different approach to structure, combat, characters, dialogue and quests). The only thing I don't like (especially now during my 3rd playthrough) is the recycled areas - they ruin the options for replayability. After visiting the forum tonight I felt that I need to express my opinion but even now, as I'm about to post it, I'm not sure if it's worth to get involved in what's going on here so I think I will go back to Kirkwall now. Despite the dark times, I prefer to take part in solving conflicts over there...

I really enjoyed the game. However, I recently started playing Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and while they are very different games, I still think Kirkwall is kinda dead when compared to Rome.

I don't presume to speak for you. That being said, the Origins fanbase as a whole generally agrees that the Fade is the worst segment of the game. I hope that argument doesn't require numbers, because I don't have any, but any time spent in the Origins forum should give you the answer you seak.

I'm nearing the end of my second playthrough and I'm still enjoying it.

The environments are tedious with all the repititions, although I'm not nearly as annoyed now as I was during my first playthrough. Now I just feel like when I played through Origins for the third time. Seen it all, been everywhere, so the environments are dull.

I actually liked the fade ... the first time. Then it got tedious.

Well, to put it better; the fanbase as a whole generally agrees that the Fade needs major improvements.

For one, they need to get more creative in how to make it feel like a dream, instead of giving us a visual representation of being under a dirty lake.

I really enjoyed the game, it had it's moments that I thought were well put. The only reason I stopped my second playthrough was because of the Isabella friendship bug, even though I don't have the thumbs up on my ability screen anymore, my warrior would still end up being extremely slow. Little bugs that add up sort of ruined the experience for me, but either way I hope they can fix it because I do like the game.

Is it the worst game people like to keep initiating it is? No, well that's subjective. It is a well done game, but like any other game, it has it's flaws which do not out-score the positive aspects in my opinion. There's a difference between not liking the game and saying it is bad, which I think some people tend to forget.
