as long as they keep her (and all the other god-awful book characters) away from the games, he can do what he likes.

Does it look like she's wearing a Quarian enviro-suit?

Sheen sounds a bit ......lispy. Don't get me wrong I respect him as an actor, It's just he wasn't perfect.

I wouldn't say lispy, but I don't think his voice went with TIM's appearance, and both were contrary to my idea of him from Ascension (I think that was his first appearance, could be wrong).

And thanks for reminding me about this. Just preordered it - £3.85 at The Book Depository, and 180ish days to go :)

Yes, and that's because she is. If you don't know why, you need to read the previous 3 novels.

Well, I'm all for Gillian as a squadmate in ME3.
Since Bioware is obviously putting new people in, she is developed for those who have read the books, and we obviosly are going to need the very best biotic against the Reapers, better than Jack even, and that's Gillian.

"... But when she falls under the sway of a radical group who believes their powers make them superior to ordinary humans..."

This doesn't sound like Cerberus, it reminds me more of that biotic commune in ME1.
Cerberus invested a lot in Gillian Grayson in the novels, and they wouldn't just let her go if she reappeared, but I hope they won't have a major role in this novel.

^This.

That's exactly what I got from the blurb.

She's probably going to be offered a place in one of the biotic-terrorist/freedom-fighter groups, and a way of growing her power.

Cerberus will want her as a weapon against the Reapers, or rather to develop some kind of horrible mega-biotic clone soldiers they can use before AND after the Reaper invasion to assure their dominance.

I'm hoping for a morally grey story,  where both the options for her are 'deal with the devil' and she has to find her own way.

Plus a 'good' writer would use Gillian's 'condition' as a way of examining Cerberus' concept of humanity. If they only value her for her biotic power, are they really interested in the survival of the human spirit, or power?

I don't know anything about this Dietz guy, and I haven't read the Halo novels, but I cannot imagine him doing a worse job than Drew. Some writters should really stick to the medium they know best. Drew and books turned out to be a bad idea. They could be entertaining enough, but most of the time they were just poorly written and populated to the brim with boring and unlikeable characters (Kahlee Sanders is the biggest sinner of the lot here)

Drew left to work on Star Wars. Dietz is the writer of the Halo novels.

Yup, we're screwed.

The halo novels aren't *that* bad, but I can understand the sentiment by association.

It's normal for people to hate Halo - but Dietz's book really was the worst out of the bunch. Still, he had to work with preset material - adapt the first game into a novel. I sincerely hope he does better this time around when there are less constrictions.

Only just saw the cover and I must admit that I like it.

Currently I'm hoping that the fact that they gave Gillian a face - and quite the body - means that she will play a prominent role in the third game. Now I just hope that the book can compare to Karpyshyn's; for as far as I know, Dietz' Halo novel is one of the less liked ones.

I'm sure this has been discussed here, but why does Gillian sort of look like a Miranda clone? And we don't even know anything about her past prior to the Illusive Man handing her to Grayson. Oh the implications...

I'm not going to lie, I'm seeing Gillian as a squadmate. With or without the Illusive Man's blessing will probably be determined by your actions with the collector base.
