I am nearly completion of the game and am all but unable to play it as Hawke preforms all combat actions in slow motion. All other characters and enemies are moving at regular speed but Hawke is all but useless while this issue is happening. It doesn't matter whether I am using Hawke or if I switch to another party member he's pretty much a sitting duck. I don't remember exactly when this issue started but it's fairly recent (definately ocured in act 3 for me). I've really enjoyed the game and would like to finish the story line but the game is pretty much unplayable right now. I do have prior game saves to revert back to in a worst case scenario.

Has anyone else had this issue and is there a known fix or cause?Image IPB
I'm using a white Xbox 360 (as opposed to the slim version) and am playing off my Hard Drive (which shouldnt be the issue as its faster than the DVD rom and no one but Hawke is affected).

I'm really irritated by this major issue.  Image IPB

The cause is from Isabella's friendship ability that increases your speed and Sebastian creates another bug that decreases your damage resistance so in the end your character can die within a couple hits and can barely move

but the fix is to mod pretty much

check the link in my signature and go to the section called Bugfixes and it even links to a good program called FirstBlight

Thx for the reply... Will any of this affect my story line in the game? I don't want to make my party member dislike me.

With modding? no

All you do is just change the value of the attack speed and damage resistance and it won't involve any of your characters

I guess this is just a way to make the game playable if your character becomes too slow and too weak form the bug. If you increase your speed to something really high (like 80) then you will never need to worry about the bug and a good damage resistance without being invulnerable would probably be about 25-35

It will still happen eventually to your character but hopefully by then an update will be out for the game that fixes the issue.

Sometimes it seems that Bioware doesn't have enough competent play testers to find the bugs since these seem like extremely easy ones to come in contact with.

If you increase your speed to 80, is it a lot faster than it should be? I wouldn't want to make my character overpowered...

lol, yeah

I increased it really high on my mage character that I am using and it is pretty funny

default is about 20-30

On my third character I will increase it further and give all the abilites just to see what will happen

I'll change it to about 25 and hopefully my rogue will be back in action :o

Actually, my xbox wasn't working awhile back, and it was cause my hard drive was too full, so I had deleted the installation of Dragon Age 2 on my Xbox 360...Turns out I deleted my save files too... Guess I don't have to worry about this bug anymore...

I just wish they would patch it. I/we shouldn't have to program/mod behind them to fix something that is a basic part of game play.

Yeah, I'm not sure why they resort people to mod just so they can fix their game

I remember having to do this A LOT with Fallout: New Vegas so at least it isn't that much.

One thing that I do like about Bioware is that they allowed me to create a modding tutorial for both PC and 360 with all the links to the 360 version when I directly asked Chris. He just said that as long as it isn't illegal and doesn't break the EULA (which talks about how you cannot do any hardware modifications and things like that) that I can put it up.

So I definately respect Bioware in that sense.

Preventing this bug is pretty simple, other than at the end of act2.

If you do not have isabella/sabastien in your group but have their friendship buff, then go to a horn(char selection) add the offender to your group, exit char selection, then remove them, exit char selection. The buff should be gone.

Never load a game in which you still have one of their buffs while the offender is not in the group or you will take a hit to attackspeed/dr.

This method seems to have worked for me.
