Oh c'mon thats bit elitist thing to say. Thrash is still alive and well with bands like Merciless Death and all around. Though quality of majority of these new wave Thrash bands is questionable, their music still undoubtly Thrash and sounds like it. Just listen song Genocide on Merciless Death's myspace site and say this isnt Thrash in late '80s style with badass Thrash-breaks and all.

On that I have to agree somewhat. While being Thrash, it doesnt SOUND like it. A lot of modern Thrash albums are too clean and overproduced, no bite that serves the music and makes it sound more violent. Abrasive sound like in Metallica - Kill Em All or Demolition Hammer's albums are what makes good thrash even greater.
