Beautiful version of a beautiful song - I wish Waits would get together with the Kronos String Quartet to make a full album. Either new songs or new versions of old songs, both would be awesome.

I saw Tom Waits playing with the Kronos Quartet at Neil Young's Bridge School Benefit show a few years ago.  It was a fairly short set, so he didn't do much of his customary weird storytelling... they just played a bunch of great songs.  (Including Cold Cold Ground.)  An album would definitely be nice.

Well, now it's:

Arvo Pärt - Fratres (for eight cellos)

Edit: Actually, the version I'm listening to is performed by the 12 cellists of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.  The link is for a performance by the cellists of the Columbia University Orchestra, though.

Haven't been to a Waits concert myself. If he ever comes to Finland.... Or nearby, and I happen to have the money and the time to travel...

Listening to the Master And Commander soundtrack now. Great movie, great soundtrack.
