Angus & Julia Stone - Yellow Brick Road
Angus (?) looks a bit like, and is dressed much like Captain Beefheart, who, coincidentally(?) had a song called
Yellow Brick Road
Sounds nothing alike though.

I'm not much of a trance guy, but I like this one - it's close enough to the progressive house side of things that I can dig it. I've heard Darren Tate's name before, but never any of his stuff. Thanks for linking it.

Dubstep anyone? Mt. Eden - Sierra Leone
Not bad - not big on the beat, but it's got some nice elements. I like dubstep, but mostly the mid-period stuff (Glyphic-era Boxcutter, Intex Systems) and more recent stuff on the margins* from Hessle and Hotflush.
*Meaning in terms of genre, not popularity obviously. Speaking of:
Ike Release - Iridescent. The Infrasonics 12" series has pretty strong so far, gotta say.

when it comes to EDM, i enjoy the following genres/sub-genres: chill house, progressive house, deep house, uk hard house, progressive trance, goa/psy-trance, chill trance, uk hard nrg, freeform hardcore, hard drum n bass, tech step, 2 step, detroit techno, hard techno, acid techno, and some hardstyle.
~6 years ago, just before getting out of the scene, i was recording a uk hard nrg mix. here is an old pic of me putting down a mix that i had recorded in my then time bedroom at my old house. on my right side is "control" by dynamic intervention and on the left is a song i forgot the name of. all i remember is that it's by paul glazby. my technics SL1200 mk2's were pitched up a bit.
