Have you heard "Wake the White Queen" by the Cruxshadows? It is on the "Where's Neil When You Need Him?" Tribute CD (that entire CD is great BTW). The lyrics will make more sense if you've seen the movie it's based on, Mirrormask. If you've seen the movie Labyrinth and liked that, then it's a pretty sure bet that you'd like Mirrormask too.
And if you already know all this, I apologize!
I just get so excited when other people know about some of the more obscure bands I listen to. No one where I live knows or cares anything about the Cruxshadows, Collide, Lacuna Coil, etc....
I heard it now?

No, seriously, I've heard it before. This is my first time seeing its video though. I've seen Labyrinth, yes. (Picked it as my third favorite movie of all time in a recent forum top ten list, in fact.) I'll have to look into Mirrormask. Generally I'm oblivious to why songs are made. I had no idea this song was inspired by a movie until now.
It's the same for me. Everyone I know around here tends to stick with top 40 music and has no idea some of these bands exist. The one person I know that does lives thousands of miles from me. I'm sure there are others that do in the city, but I haven't met them.
