A night out on the town, Third-time-travel-style:
9-23-77 Fri. Hollywood Palladium, LA *The Avengers, Blondie, Devo, The Weirdos.
I was looking up info on The Avengers when I came across thier list of old gigs and found this incredible night of shows, seen above. I started listening to these bands one after another, then realized that there are enough vintage film clips of these bands to give people an idea of what they might have been like, so here is my half-baked effort at time travel to see those bands:
The Weirdos (Opening Act)
Do The Dance
...the Masque 12 - 6 -1977...less then three months later.
Devo (Next Up)
Gut Feeling
... July 8, 1977 at Max's Kansas City...roughly two and a half months earlier.
Blondie (Second to Last)
Rip Her to Shreds
Whisky A Go Go, LA, 29 Sept 1977...six days later.
The Avengers (The Headliners)
We are the on
...at The Masque, L.A.-01/07/78...roughly three months later.
