Juliet - Ride the Pain (the Low End Specialists Dominatrix mix, but I couldn't find a video for that)....
Juliet's great.
Maybe its just me but Juliet looks a lot like Morrigan from the Sacred Ashes trailer, a lot.

You're right Woldan, she does!
Albeit even prettier, I'd say, and I love the short haircut.

Huo Yuan Jia (OST to a Jet Li martial arts movie, Fearless) ~ Jay Chou
Lyrics and translation
Jay Chou is a Taiwanese R&B/hip-hop artiste who's quite popular in East Asia. I normally don't care for his songs and style of singing because he usually sounds like he has a mouthful of marbles, but this track made me sit up and listen. It's quite a fascinating combination of hip-hop beats, Chinese classical music, rap and even a slice of Chinese opera (sung in falsetto by Chou himself!). Very impressive, even if Chou's delivery is shaky at times IMHO. Now this is how it should be done.

She seems to struggle with dancing, though.

Dontchange ~ Musiq Soulchild
Beautiful song. I have to admit that it brought a tear to my eye as the video in particular reminded me of my experience worrying about a boyfriend with a mental disorder, and later taking care of my mother who was disabled. Of course, it's a bit of a romanticized view because despite the old mantra reading "in sickness and in health, till death to us part", the simple fact is that not everyone is able or wants to be with a sick partner for the rest of their lives (and I don't believe myself in forcing someone to assume a commitment that they're not willing to undertake, or asking them to sacrifice their job / lifestyle / time / personal life if it means a lot to them ). Still... it's nice to dream that one's other half would do and care the same.

Not every Swedish Metal band uses corpse paint and sings about Satan, war and massacres.
Opeth - In the Mist She Was Standing.

and the second part...

Unluckily, they don´t play this particular one too much since it´s from their first album (Orchid) and they don´t like it too much; when they play song from it, at least in the recent times, they are leeaning more towards Under the Weeping Moon. I have seen these guys 5 times and I was lucky enough to listen to the one I posted only once.
And another fave from the same album; Sihouette.

Do You Want My Love ~ Coco Lee
Old song from 1999. It's actually an excellent example of how music is influenced by current trends, I think - Lee definitely has vocal ability, but more importantly considering how this track was off her USA English-language debut, I think this track and Lee's image show blatant signs of being manufactured to specifically appeal to the same market segment which bought into the pop/R&B artistes of the day i.e. Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Lopez etc (whose hit "If You Want My Love" is rather reminiscent of Lee's song here, I think). Lee was also quite fittingly dubbed "Asia's Mariah Carey" back in her heyday, a side of which I think she expresses in the slow ballad "Before I Fall In Love" though she physically resembles a young Christina in this one. Also consider how Lee's hair is dyed blonde and her Asian-ness de-emphasized for both videos. Perhaps I give Lee too little credit, though, because she can indeed sing (although noticeably hampered by the inability to sustain high notes above a certain range and lacking the power of Christina's voice, which unfortunately creates pitchiness and handicaps her delivery in her cover of "Reflections"). Still, listening to Lee takes me back to the ol' days of pop. Good times, good times.
EDIT: Side note of interest: Lee also sang the Chinese-language theme song for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, called A Love Before Time. I think she's more into her natural range here, and pulls it off superbly.
