My first impression was just like yours.. "What the hell is this?" But after listening to them for a while and flipping through their discography I can safely say they're my new favorite metal/punk/jpop/rock/rap/screamo band.. I suppose because they're the only band I know of that fill all those genres at once, most in every song  

Bottom line though is they're just fun and don't take themselves seriously, check out their lyrics for confrimation on that..
