NIN's best of all the time.
Sadly, Trent's music pretty much went downhill since the peak of awesomeness - ''the fragile'' in 1999 and ''things falling apart''. And as much as I like instrumental ambient music, ''Ghost''....jjust boring. Well, the slip is not bad to be honest.

I'm still listening to scary amounts of battle/folk metal. I'm worried.

Battle Metal? Dude; you´d better go to real deal bands such as Angelcorpse, Bolt Thrower or Watain.OnlyShallow89 wrote...

I really miss the more metal approach of The Downward Spiral. That is one of the sickests records I have ever listened to.The Woldan wrote...

The Girl in Byakkoya by Susumu Hirasawa off the Paprika soundtrack. You will either love this song or think it's crap. Seems to be no in between here.
It is an awesome song to be sure, but my favorite soundtrack music comes from.

Yes me too, after all this and heavy industrial is what made NIN so great. But now its more like ambient / upbeat etc. I am not a sentimental person, but completely abandoning the roots is always a big mistake.
Although I prefer ''Further Down the Spiral'' over ''The Downward Spiral, ''Eraser -Denial & Realization'' rocks my pants:

I agree whole-heartedly! Cowboy Bebop has the best music. I also really enjoyed what she did for Escaflowne...
