The problem was that after the "event" it was supposed to give an achievement. The unlocked achievement popped up but it would not register in the 360 achievements. Even worse, when I went to look at my profile my entire profile was gone (momentarily).

I was able to retrieve it after logging off and then back on, but ever time I did the "event" again and got the achievement the same thing happened.

What worked to fix everything was this.

1. saved a couple of choice save games to a USB 
2. completely deteleted my profile from the 360 and cleared the Cache
3. deleted Dgragon Age II and all DLC
4. re-downloaded my profile from XBOX LIVE and reinstalled Dragon Age II and all its DLC

Everything worked perfectly no patch required. Got the achievement and not  a single problem afterwards.

Hope this helps anybody having the same problem.
