Valve.

Blizzard has impressive titles, but while I've always been satisfied with Blizzard titles, I've never thought to myself, "This is a unique experience I will want to revisit 10 years down the road." Blizzard does things well, it never innovates.

BW has been remaking the same game for 12 years with only a few tweaks and tune-ups. Granted, the game is good - but the only place BW innovates is storytelling. The rest is minor modifications to the original TRPG setup with inventories, companions, loot, and unnecessary but occasionally intriguing side-quests.

Valve, though, has much love. TF2 may have taken hats too far for my tastes, but 30 minutes into playing Portal I thought to myself, "Holy crap... I have not played this before. And it ROCKS." Same way with HL2 and its physics engine combined with best facial animations I've ever seen. Ah, nothing gives a Gordon Freeman quite so much an ego boost as Alyx's pearly whites as you shoot a table at a group of Combine...

Valve > BW > Blizzard in terms of what makes me tick. Though I think Blizzard has always had better artistic style than BW - but their stories have always been mediocre, at best.

I'm gonna vote for Blizzard simply because Bioware games on the PS3 are of lesser quality than their Xbox 360/PC counterparts.

And the other has StarCraft

I love both games but Mass had me compelled till the end and after 100hrs I am still enthralled by the story...while Starcraft is more about multiplayer and how long you can go till you get frustrated by rushes.

It gives me 2 voting options, I don't think Bioware deserves to win, I had a lot of fun with Blizzard titles in the past and they definitely care about their customers more than Bioware IMO.

Bioware and Blizzard are evenly matched, but at this point, Blizzard wins with technical quality of its games, they take a lot of testing time before they release their games and dont rush with them until they are polished, unfortunately Bioware refuses to do so.
But overall level of awesomeness of both companies is dropping like a stone since each of them merged with large publishers like EA and Activision.
So yes, they both suck the same

Thing is, Bioware has been in 2nd place two years in a row. Will they rise to first this year, or will there be a threepeat?

I was expecting the BlizzKids to stampede into the toll booth, but they'd have to stop "competing" in their "sport" and that won't happen.

Still, Valve's fanboys are some of the most vocal internet trolls out there. They're sure to take their imaginary cake and eat it too. They've made two phenomenal games and a handful of meh, I say they don't deserve the praise as a game design studio. Steam - Sweet, Left 4 Dead - Garbage.

That is the idea. The small developers and newcomers face off against the big developers early, so the big developers come toe to toe for a dramatic finale.

I don't know who to vote for on this one. Starcraft 2 has given me far more value for money than Mass Effect 2. I voted Bioware in last year's competition, but maybe Blizzard deserves mine this time round. It is a tough choice.

And people are quick to forget the Blizzard also created SC, SC2 and WC3

Yeah, and making good games back in the day means nothing. You might as well say, Blizzard doesn't completely suck. They made StarCraft 2. I can say Troika kicked butt because they made Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. It wouldn't matter, as that game's old enough to need a Jack Lelanne juicer to survive and it's younger than WC3.

This is not a matter of actual quality of games, but which fanbase is more active on that particular section of the interbutts.

Either way, it's not like I'm qualified to vote. I'm only honestly interested in one series from each developer (SC and ME).
