Good morning (or night) everyone. I'm not used to "support forums", so I don't really know how to begin. I'll just explain you the situation:
a few days ago, I retrived my old, original, european version of Baldur's Gate II: SoA and wanted to play online with a bounce of friends. After some patching (widescreen, unfinished businness, updates, etc.) I tried to start a multiplayer server. The bad surprise came when I tried to select a protocol: not a single option was available.
This is what I can see:

I tried to reinstall the whole game, deleting related registry keys and folders, I tried to manually uninstall it, but nothing changed. Even with a perfectly clean installation, with and without mods and patches, the result didn't change: there still isn't a single protocol available.

Surfing the net (mainly on the old BioWare Legacy Forum) I found two or three other people in my same situation, and no-one, as far as I know, solved the problem yet.

SO, this is the question: how do I solve this annoying problem?
Waiting for your answer, I'll try emulating a virtual machine with WinXP.

What directory did you install it in? If you installed it in the default location, don't do that.

Re-install it NOT in either the "program files" or "program files(x86)" directory. Try something like c:\\games\\BG2.

if you do get that part working, one thing you might run into is that when you go to start a new multiplayer game in full-screen mode, it will just hang. Hit alt+enter to run it in windowed mode while you do character creation and through the first cutscene with irenicus in the dungeon. Then you can hit alt+enter to run fullscreen again for the rest of the game.

Thanks for the answer. Sadly, my installation path is I:\\Installed Games\\BG2 - SoA. I already thought about changing directory installation, but my effort was vain
