This is a longshot but I will make a thread and hope for a response.
When play BG1 with Tutu my problem is as follows:

When I am in cities (only been in 2 till now) all the recorded speech has the echo effect (also known as reverb effect in audio editing). It is a small issue but my OCD tingles everytime I hear voices sound like I'm in a deep cathedral chamber but my characters are out in the sunny green village.

And bonus question; is there way to disable battle music?

Thanks for reading I hope some oldschooler can help since the amount of mods and fixes for BG1 and 2 are unlimited and using google can he a mess.

This extremely embarrassing and I wish I could delete the topic :(

Replying to myself 10 minutes after I made the thread to say I solved the echo/reverb issue after disabling "Environmental Audio" from the sound options.

To salvage some of my dignity I still wish the battle/combat music would go away.

I'm going to reply to myself once again IN CASE someone bumps into this thread somewhere in the future.

I managed to stop "battle / combat music" by removing all the B**.mus files (eg BC1.mus etc) from the BG directory music folder (example: C:\\Baldur's gate\\music).

Now I can enjoy the nice ambient sounds and relaxing themes without the loud, monotonous and immersion breaking music invading everytime I see a kobold!!!

Thanks all for help ;) trollface.jpg

Environmental audio (EAX) should only be using reverb when in a cave/mine or something similar. I have environmental turned on, and hear no echo in cities. Depending on what sound card you have, you may have some kind of "acoustic" effect enabled.

Additionally, if you are using Vista/Win 7 with a Soundblaster card, like I am, then you will also need to download and install "creative alchemy" which will allow EAX to work like it should in legacy games where it is supported.
