& the dock workers stand on the same place, the vendors are the same - everything is the same, nothing changes ~

Yeah! Or, they have a closet full of "unique" armor, that all looks....alike. Hmmm.... something is wrong with that sentence, I just can't put my finger on it.

Because it's the laziest/crappiest time passage mechanic that has ever existed in a game.

If you can't pull it off Bioware, don't hype it and don't do it.

Yep. Such wasted, wasted opportunities due to lazy-assed story-telling. Ugh. Honestly, this video sums it up nicely. xD

SPOILERS, obviously.

People rag on Peter Molyneux a lot, and they have good reasons. But at least he tries.
With regards to the passage of time it was hyped and then no effort placed into it whatsoever. I maintain that you could have the whole game take place over 6 months and nothing needs to be changed.

lol, it says a lot about how full of crap you are when Molyneux's BS to delivery ratio is higher than your game's.

I don't care much about clothes in the game and real life. I have a very small wardrobe and only buy new when the old are worn out. I practice "the one in, one out" rule with clothes. Maybe Hawke and friends are like me, they just don't care about fashion. I would rather spend money on games.

There was definitely no effort put to make it feel as if any length of time had passed. All the same npc's standing around doing absolutely nothing, same stalls, buildings in the same state of repair, etc. But with all the corners cut in this game I'm not surprised in the least.

I think the time skips made the romances far less realistic.  What happened in those three years between acts 2 and 3 and what happens immediately after the time skip just does not work.

Edit: Took out the spoilers. Gah, sorry!

Depends on the Romance. Isabela's works fine since she actually leaves town for the three years. Act 3 starts at her return. But it works less well with other ones ("You know I never really apologized for that thing I said three years ago..."  "Um...better late than never.")

It would be nice if they do have some DLC or expansions that deal with the timeskips that some romance dialogue is included. The romance wouldn't be the main plot, but added dialogue would make it mesh together better.

Time skips were handeled very poorly. Weeks would have made a lot more sense. Not years. It's what I keep telling my self when I'm playing as well.

Hehe that video was great. Loved "I was in the first game!" and "DRAGON AGE 3" at the end. Gold.

It's basically how it went in DA2 if you periodically had a seizure while playing it and missed huge chunks of the game.

A video like that could be made for Dragon Age: Origins... hell, for any game ever made.

It's a funny video. Stop trying to make it more than what it is.

Oh, I thought those three year gaps were the result of Hawke's epilepsy kicking in.

It would have been funny if things really -had- happened in the time skips.

"Hey, Merrel! Do you want to talk about that thing you said three years ago? Maybe fight some monsters?"

"Oh.. Hi Hawke.. I'd love to catch up sometime, but I was only out to pick up some cold medicine for my daughter.. this week is pretty busy."

"Daughter?!.. ah.. well.. want to go on a date sometime?"

"I don't think my husband would like that."

And once again I find myself agreeing with you. I know exactly what you mean. 3 years? Please. What the heck were they thinking?

Here's another idea that was a wasted opportunity on the time jumps.

For those of us who had straight romances. You'd think after 3 years of banging, that Hawke and other would have themselves a baby.

Do condoms exist in the DA-verse?

Probably Nugskin condomes or the like, I we had pigskin or other types of condomes here ~

Or herbal and magical solutions - magic aught to be a great and simple way of closing of tubes, day after pills, early pregnancy tests and any potential need for abortions.
