Normally yes, but I am getting recurring reports that everyone wants 'any news' instead of 'silence' so I'm doing my best to provide it. The comical approach is just for me though
And I wish that was the April fools joke. I'd really like to say "How about goodbye" to the Arishok at the end of the duel and then Renegade kick him down the steps of the keep!

So what is happening friday? Do we get:
1. A joke
2. A patch
3. Just an update on when we will get a patch
/so easily confused these days
Definitely #3 and probably #1 because I am fond of humor and/or tomfoolery.

I'd rather do that instead of the duel...

Great now my brain is going to be stuck trying to figure out who would be who. Thanks.

1.01 was a quick fix for some technical issues.
The coming patch is supposed to be pretty big and address a variety of bugs, so it stands to reason that it would be bumped up to version 1.1.
(Or maybe I'm a silly nerd. That's always a possibility too.)

DAO patches are numbered as 1.01, 1.02, 1.03, 1.04... with some "a" and "b" qualifiers thrown in.

It's not going to be 1.1. BioWare patches follow the version scheme that RaenImrahl mentioned aboveRaenImrahl wrote...

Yes, I know. Shall I go on a rant about how "BioWare are doing it wrong" if they do the same with DA2?

Just because it's not standard industry practice doesn't mean they shouldn't do it, it's their game - as long as the version scheme makes sense, why does it matter?
At the end of the day 1.02 > 1.01 so you'll know it's a later version - there's no real reason why it should be bumped up for 1.1 just because it's a large patch. (It could even could confuse people expecting 1.02 if it was)

Bah. I forget that people in this environment don't necessarily get my sense of humor.
I was playing with the nerd stereotype. Self-deprecating humor tends to be my favorite kind.
But, technically, how version numbers are increased is supposed to indicate how much they change. This is an old practice primarily made for people with a certain grasp of mathematics and application development principles, and it could indeed confuse people who aren't that into either. So all I'm saying is that technically the version number should be something like 1.1, but I'm in no way demanding it and don't have any problem with BioWare running with 1.02 simply to make the patch progression clearer.
...Okay, that might have been a bit much for such a simple issue.

I fully appreciate the point you were making - I've made programs in the past and dealt with the whole version number issue too - BioWare's system isn't exactly the norm, but it works for them.

I for one really appreciate your posts, I understand there's certain things you can't or won't say anything about (or both) and that's understandable.
But it's very nice to see some BioWare posts from someone with a little humility, humor and presence. Makes me feel like there's good people working on the patches/DLC/expansion/whatever, it's a good feeling

If there is a patch in place for the PC, then we should have it now, regardless of when the console patches are going to be released. I own both consoles, I have no problem with multi-platform game releases, but I greatly resent when game companies withhold PC updates and patches until they can get the console patches though Microsoft/Sony.
