...how should I respec my Vanguard? I normally role with Squad Cyro and Slam for warp bombs, but that seems a little pointless now. Which would be better Reave or Stasis?

I'd probably take all points out of Cryo (unless there are husks on Arrival, not sure tbh). You could keep Slam and just use it as crowd control just in case although Stasis is better in that regard.

My usual build has Heavy Slam for the SlamWarp bombs, but since Arrival is solo - I'd take Stasis.

Keep squad cryo for your first playthrough, unless you get an early spoiler and know what to expect. It might just come in handy against some potential horde sequence. Kenson also might just be able to benefit from it once or twice.

Ditto on Stasis though. Can't go wrong with this power when facing the unknown. According to the screens, they'll be at least one Ymir to spam it on.

I've never used Reave or Stasis on my Vanguard does the cool down interfere with Charge much?

Reave is the sort of ability that begs to be used frequently, so I would say it does indeed interfere with Charge's cooldown.  I use Stasis far less frequently when I have it, only bringing it out against particularly tenacious opponents or in an emergency.  I don't find Stasis to conflict overmuch with Charge.

ill be playing through as soldier. From the way this sounds I think ill play through the game again as a vanguard. Soldier is kinda boring, makes me feel like im playing gears of war lol

Ha ha ha, I agree with you a bit there, I put Slam as a bonus ability on mine 'cause I missed a biotic finishing move. Just straight shooting everything was good, but something was lacking.

Where did you guys see Arrival is squadless? I haven't really liked the squadless sections of the game so far.

No you won't. Arrival is a match made in heaven for Claymore Vanguard IMHO.
But, there is a fight that can't be done without using cover. Just not possible.

There is? You mean Charge's shield regen isn't enough to get through? Sounds cool - but waiting on a link ...

Yeah, way too much incoming fire, no one can withstand that in the open.
There was a link for the download yesterday, not sure if they took it down..

edit

Link is still up:

That sounds like a challenge!

Without spoilers, what did you think of the DLC overall, Kronner?

I don't dare venture into ME2 General, where every topic likely has a spoiler in the headline.

Very good DLC overall, heavily combat oriented and linear; good story too, but severe lack of choice hurts it a lot in this area. I liked the level design..many opportunities to take advantage of Charge.

It has one of the best fights in the game IMHO (not really hard, but fun as hell), and a few moments that brought back memories from one older game (Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast).

I'd rate it 8/10. Worth the money IMHO.

Thanks for the link Kronner! It still works, but kinda weird there isn't an official link available yet (I thought EA would be more careful after the Crysis 2 debacle).

If the official link doesn't work tonight, I'll use the 'other' version. :)

Still a couple of hours to decide which class I'll play. Oh, is there a reason to play this DLC before/after SM or something? Or is it like Overlord and LotSB?

I've always thought that when you play the DLC makes no difference for LoTSB and Overlord; but Arrival makes sense only post-SM imho.
Yeah, the link is legit for sure. BioWare simply hasn't added the "buy it" option yet, but it can be activated using the 'other' way, no problem. I played it twice, both times as a Vanguard - it is very short DLC though.

This thread ended up being kind of pointless: my Vanguard was unstoppable, it was my Infiltrator and Adept who took a beating. I only had to use Stasis once...

Yeah Arrival is a very good DLC especially for combat. After getting my ass kicked at Object Rho decided to play cautiously with my Adept as it was first playthrough and didn't wanna do anything stupid especially without squadmates which made the fights a bit harder (a good thing on Insanity).

Really want to try this with Vanguard which I'll do later tonight.

What sort of Infiltrator did you play?  A GPS Infiltrator shouldn't have much trouble as most of the DLC is squadless.  The only hard part for my Infiltrator (and I hesitate to call it "hard") was protecting Kenson while she fiddled with the security computer.

I was playing a fresh off Horizon Infiltrator armed with the Mantis. I wanted to see if there was any difference if the DLC was played before SM and this was my current playthrough.
