Spared him, then ran off with him (Maria Hawke, PC Mage/Spirit Healer, Romanced him).

first play through i let him live and told him he had to help me- second i killed him 3rd i let him go, and told him to leave but killed him after when he confronted me. I never really liked anders overly much not even in awakening- and i do think killing him is what he deserved overall.  I just wonder if this means justice is actually dead also? as he lived in the host of a dead body in awakening but didn't die?

My female rogue Hawke was romancing him, when he betrayed her trust and used her without her knowledge. She told him things could have been different if only he had trusted her with the truth. Then she knifed him in the street and walked away.

I let him live and we went off together to be revolutionists in one play through. Its better to let him see his actions then to kill him.

Always spared him because I feel like I'm only honoring his actions by killing him. If he dies, he would've ultimately achieved his objective and avoided the discountenance or indignity coming his way. At least, if he's alive, he would have the burden of contrition for as long as he lives, until his Calling eventually claims him. Either way, it's a matter of killing him instantly or allowing him to slowly, but surely die in his own prison.

After what he said I'm thinking of considering letting him live, just because if he dies, well, he doesn't get to see what happens, one more mage dead and then he doesn't help me.

MURDER KNIFE MAYHEM!

Sins may be forgiven but crimes require punishment.

If he was an NPC [not a companion] and wasn't named Anders, everyone would kill him for what he did and not think twice about it.

Sad but true

stabbed him in the back, a death befitting of the terrorist he was.

You have to spare Idunna in the "Enemies among us" quest and then she writes you and tells you about a series of books that Tarohne was using.  There are 5 you have to find and destroy then a final book you can read (for 2 attribute points) and an interesting battle.  Then you get the Achievement once Xebenkek is dead.
Pride demon thing...hmmm there was one you fight in the Fade during Feyneriel's quest.  Not sure if that gave it to me or not.

You should look this up on the dragon age wiki, the undying terror is found by destroying all of Tarohne's books in Act 2 ( there are four I think). The Pride Demon is found by collecting the three Aweirgen Scrolls in Act three and killing the enemies they spawn elsewhere on the map.

As for Anders,
First game I told him to stay and he mistook that as my support of his scheme instead of just "I need you to help defend the people you put in danger, then you can ****** off"

Second game I told him to go away then had him rejoin when I bumped into the mages again, this was alright I guess, he was much less intense about how I always support him

Third game I told him to go away after he nearly killed that mage in the Ser Alrik quest, now I finally understand the wierd look Hawke and Anders exchange in the Hanged an when Hawke goes to see Varric. Probably gonna kill him to be honest, this is my pro templar game so it makes sense. I like this way of handling Anders best of the three and will probably do it in my next pro mage game as well :)

Yea I should spare him at least one playthrough, mostly because I would love to have him see the amount of death his actions brought about, but I think even if I romanced him, I would be just too pissed off at that moment to care.
What he did shows a lack of concern for anyone, especially the mages who's lives he has placed in jeopardy. At that point I don't even think it's Anders but Vengeance. Since Hawke has spent the entire game killing abominations, I see no problem offing one more even if he is a friend/companion.
Perhaps more so, since killing him seems almost a mercy.

No second thoughts here. It was hard for my Hawke, because he genuinely liked Anders, and had really hoped that a way to separate him from Vengence would work, when Anders lied to him. But he didn't trust him completely, which was why he didn't help him once he discovered that wasn't the plan, and thought that mass murder deserved death. He'd killed people for far less. Anders became a true abomination to Hawke, and had to be killed before he did worse.

Killed him once, took him with me thrice.
Killing him on the spot, unless you're playing choleric Hawke, kind of doesn't make sense :|

First Hawke killed him. I kept waiting for a "take body to prove to the Kirkwall people that justice has been served and to leave the Circle alone." Oh well.

Second Hawke fought beside him.

I generally send him away, then take him back at the gates. I also romance him, which is part of the reason why I have a hard time killing him (did it once, but it broke my cold black heart; it's those darn sad eyes, he's like my puppy). At least sending him away makes it seem like Hawke's not just condoning what he did, but also gets across the point that he can't bring himself to kill Anders.

Plus, if I killed him I couldn't indulge in my purging-him-of-Justice or working-for-redemption fantasies.

Besides have him move into my house and make him a gentle and devoted lover to my Hawke?

Well, my Hawke lets him come with me to the gallows, and she ran away with him.
