Are there any? I didn't see any nor do I recall any in-game lore reffering to them. Especially after playing the City Elf origin, it seems like there would at least be some bastards running around... are human and elves incapable of producing offspring in DA?

They come out human. Alistair's mother was an elf.

Apparently half-elves look entirely human in DA.

I'll just refrain from writing my opinion on that..

Apparently that's debattable. D. Gaider said we could speculate but he won't confirm or deny.. lol.

Ah, well at least it's addressed. It seemed a rather odd oversight. A missed opportunity I think, but I suppose there's half-elves in a trillion other games as well...

Yes is debateable. It could Kestrel's kid, it could be Fiona's kid, it could be a maid. More chance that he could be part elf. that and elves are usually maids. All we know is he's not Rowan's kid like Cailan.

Which is why the elven race was wiped out centuries ago through interbreeding and...

Why is it a missed opportunity? The fact that elves can only be born out of pure elven parentage is kinda what starts the whole anti elf sentiment humans have and why elves don't want to mingle with humans.

To me it's interesting, which is odd because I always play half elves if I can....

Poor elves. They're treated as slaves, and even when they are loved by their human oppressors their own children don't even look like them!

Nope... But its the reason the elves didn't want to mingle with humans, retracted from the humans, and started a war with the humans, which they lost... and now they are slaves.. fitting.

Just a half-elf fan myself, I was hoping it had been an oversight in the sense that perhaps sequels or expansions would make them possible, but if the offspring end up human, well poo. It's one more interesting thing about the setting that sets it apart but I am just a teensy bit Q_Q that I won't ever get to play one in DA.

Half Elf is possible, since the Dalish Elves part of the main quest mentioned pregnancy. I don't think you meet one in the game though.

Pretty sure Alister's Mom is human.  Since his half sister is also "human."
