Any way to make the dog level better with your character? I'm tired of my warhound not being able to hurt a low level bandit and being 1-hit killed by crappy archers.

Does anybody else not want this or have we just not figured out a way to do this yet? I thought it might be along the same lines as editing a spell but I didn't know.

There is a high probability that I am wrong simply because I do not know the mechanics involved but... I thought the pooch got stronger as your character leveled.
That's what he seemed like to me anyway.

It gets harder to kill, yes, but it does not do any more damage than it does at level one. Which makes it useless before the end of act 1 as a damager, but it's still useful as a meat shield at least until the Arishok duel =)

As far as i know: Dog gains increased health when hawke levels up, but does not gain skills or any form of damage increase (pretty sloppy work by bioware imo), also is not his substained effect suppose to last beyond load zones instead of just despawning and resetting his 30 sec CD, it's been driving me batty -.-

agreed completely. Dog needs to level better and not have to be resummoned every time we enter a new area
would also have been nice for some dialogue specific to whether or not Dog is present (much like we had in Origins when Dog was in the party)

I'd be happy, if Dog stopped freezing in place, failing to render, and refusing to move/attack.

Can spells be edited yet? If so does anyone have a tutorial on it? I would gladly take on the task of seeing if we can improve him, would be great if he was a sustained effect with a 1% mana/stamina cost, but I don't know if that would cause him to be "immortal" or how it would work if he died.

Agree with both OP and rayvioletta and GodBID so much.

Anyone know how we can edit Dog's stats?

I think it is locked away in the encrypted DLC so I'm not sure it is possible right now.

People have managed to open up some of these files, there is one out now that has the cooldown timer for Dog changed.
