I like the idea of DA3 being in Orlais, I'd like to get the chance to meet the Empress, the one who was supposedly having an affair with Cailan and was going to marry him if he hadn't been murdered. And of course, I want to see as much more of Leliana as possible :) . As for what we could achieve, I'd like the opportunity to become the new Empress. That would be pretty cool. The Hero of Ferelden, the Champion of Kirkwall, and then the Empress of Orlais! That would be pretty sweet!

Why is everyone proposing English titles for the pseudo-french hero?

Seeker.

Seems the most likely choice, has a title everyone can call you.

That's a good idea, interesting. If the default was a female it would make many people happy.

Ah, Orlais, where even the beggars are dressed in the finest silks, and the sewers run with clean drinking water! :D

And yet they all still smell funkier than the cheese they eat. Posted Image

If I had to go with a title, I'd say something like, "Grand Chevalier", sounds like just the right amount of pompous with a french accent.

I lol'd at this.  :lol::lol::lol:

The Dauphin of Orlais, which theme appropriate, might not come off as all that badass.  Oddly appropriate concidering all the hoops we'll be jumping through to get there.

By popular demand, DA3 will continue the story of the Hero of Ferelden. Since the story has to be more epic in scope than the one in DA:O, s/he will fight the sixth and the seventh Blights at once, and s/he will become the Emperor of Orlais. In DA4 s/he will have to choose whether to fight the elfish gods lead by the Dread Wolf or to invade the Black City and will become the Demi-God of Nevarra. In DA5 s/he will fight Chuck Norris himself, becoming the Obama of Thedas. I can't think of anything more extreme and awesomely epic than that.

Seriously though, I am in love with the idea of the franchise exploring the fate of various figures of importance in Thedas during the Dragon Age (hence the name of the series, as I explain it to myself). With that said, however, I doubt that we will see too many other [something]s of [somewhere], especially if we are to expect that what has happened to the Hero and the Champion will happen to the other [something]s as well.

That's actually... really cool! And could make a great deal of sence, given how Thedas seems to duplicate various elements of the history of the medieval Old World. You could play as a southern barbarian (or something of the sort) who takes advantage of the weakened Orlesian Empire. See - it recently lost Ferelden, some of the Free Cities, some lands to Nevarra, and now all of the problems upon Val Royeaux - this is a major crisis in my book and as history has taught us, none of the neighbours will fail to see this as an opportunity. So how about a Hun/Mongol sort of invasion in Orlais?

Has there been any confirmation that DA3 has been or will be started? (Link, if possible.)

Actually would be cool if you could become either new Divine, Emperor or Archon ... and the game would play on Orlais and Tevinter ...

Er, no, I hope not Orlais. I really hope DA3 is not set in Orlais.

One of the things that made Origins great was the melange of flavors Thedas had. Ferelden was kind of an Anglo-Saxon culture, Antiva was vaguely Spanish, the Avaars were vagely Scandinavian, and Orlais was pretty much French. Or at least that's what the accents and names suggested. An entire game full of people speaking French-inflected English would be too much to bear. While there are few voices I found more attractive than Riordan's, several hours of that would be too much. If the spoken dialogue were actually in French, it would feel more natural, but how many players would be able to understand it? Non-native accents are to dialogue what spice is to food. A sprinkling is an exotic addition, but you can't make a meal of peppercorns.

A baker. Or cheesemaker. Or mime. Or frog farmer. Makes all the sense, right?

Seriously now, any imposing title which will work for both genders (so they don't have to record every line that mentions the title twice) will do. Savior, Guide, Prophet, Warmaster...

We've had the Warden perspective and the Champion perspective. I guess a Seeker perspective would make sense.

Well apparently the Fereldan's no longer have  a langauge of their own, so I can only guess they are speaking a form of Orlaisian which would mean we would have a game where everyone would be speaking English with French accents, hmm, in that case prehaps it should be set in Tevinter, everyone would sound like Fenris, Decimus etc :D

The Sim: Because in Orlais, we don't do stupid things like fight "good and evil" battles... that's for lesser fantasy trash.

We'll do things like go to the bathroom - you know, gritty life stuff. We'll have relationships - and raise children, so new and different!

===

That, or "the Archdaemon" - so the little Goth kids can get their rocks off playing a puppy kicking bad guy.

I hope a new character, I didn't much like Hawke, and honestly I would like to start fresh, apart from the obvious plot connection DA3 will have to DA2.
