Based on how Orlais is described it will be politically based. Orlais is sort of the center of the renaissance for this world, its the Holy Land, its purity and corruption wed in bliss. If it follows a similar trend you'll see options about who to side with. It would be a great opportunity for Bioware to use a stronghold option akin to Baldurs Gate 2.
Warden, Champion.....Empress' Hand ?

Nah, Seeker.

The Seeker symbol flashing at the end of the game when they pretty much did nothing the entirety of DA2 seemed to be a hint.

Or just a meaningless way to wrap things up. Who knows.

Bard was my first guess, but Victor and Croissant are perfectly good guesses. But, my pocket lint is on something like Pink Panther. How do you say that in French?

I don't think it will be seeker.

The chantry would never allow a mage, after everything that has happened, to be a seeker. I don't think Bioware would purposely block us out of choosing that route.(Lots of people love playing mages) They did however block us out of choosing other races for DA2, so you never know.

I wish, as the "Hero of Ferelden," I had the option of telling people to stop calling me that. "Warden Commander" has a much better ring to it.

A seeker looking for Warden in Tevinter and then going to Orlais to find Hakwe...or both in the same place whatever Bioware wants.

Not a Seeker, or anything else connected to the Chantry please. If the game forces you to play as a religious character then I won't buy the game. It was bad enough that Hawke would mention the maker or Andraste without me telling him to.

The Enchanter of Thedas, the name given to the famed dwarven savant who enchanted the darkspawn to extinction once and for all and ushered in a new era of world peace. Statues of "things he liked" were erected all over Thedas in his honor, chiefly the Bronze Salamanders of Denerim, the Marble Gold-Encrusted Pie of Val Royeaux, and the Unctuous Middle-Aged Dwarf of Redcliffe.

A title for an orlasian hero? The "Zizou".

The Zizou of Orlais sound really good . His battle move would be the mighty headbutt.

Er, no, I hope not Orlais. I really hope DA3 is not set in Orlais.

[...] An entire game full of people speaking French-inflected English would be too much to bear. [...] If the spoken dialogue were actually in French, it would feel more natural, but how many players would be able to understand it? Non-native accents are to dialogue what spice is to food. A sprinkling is an exotic addition, but you can't make a meal of peppercorns.

QFT.

I've always found the Orlesian accent to be jarring, it bothered me to no end on the Origins playthroughs where I romanced Leliana. What you said about sprinklings and meals is doubly true for something that many many players found annoying or jarring to begin with. It'd be like nails on a chalkboard to hear everyone around you speaking that way all the time, dear god.

That being said, unfortunately, I think Bioware has locked themselves into this route by all the story elements they've hinted at being there, characters that have gone there, and centers of power(Chantry...) based there. So even if they hear the fans' dislike of it and agree they may not have much choice unless they want to pick up a totally unrelated and different plotline from the first two games they way theyd did with DA2 in comparison to Origins.

Well, they could switch it to Tevinter with the Black Divine deciding to seize this as an opprotunity to gain more power perhaps. It would be far better than Orlais...

They could use the cast of 'Allo 'Allo as voice actors! With Arthur Bostrom as the voice of the PC (an undercover Fereldan in the Orlesian court).

Companion: I think we're lost. I don't know which way to go.
PC: I have a mop if you would like to take a leak.

classic Crabtree :)
